If you’ve ever spent much time around young children, you know that if things get too quiet, you’d better go see what they’re up to. And if we’re honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that we face the same temptation when it comes to sin. When we are able to keep our sin out of the line of sight of others, we are more likely to give into it, and we assume we’re more likely to get away with it. But that’s simply not true. We either pay now or we pay later.
