Jon Margolis, political columnist with VTDigger.org, joins Dave to talk about the relative strengths and weaknesses of presidential candidates. Ham Davis, commentator on health care issues, weighs in about OneCare and other health issues. Later, James Harvey of Waterbury helps Dave fill out the history of horse racing in Vermont.

Monday’s show starts with a conversation between Dave and Steve Pappas of The Times Argus on a range of recent news stories. Sue Minter stops in to provide an update on Capstone Community Action’s Fuel Your Neighbor campaign. And Dave talks with David Mindich, a journalism professor at Temple University, about his recent work with students covering the New Hampshire primary and about journalistic objectivity.

Friday’s show opens with Dave talking with Gov. Phil Scott on a range of issues, followed by a conversation with Senate President Pro Tem Tim Ashe. Later, three members of the Youth Lobby on climate join Dave to talk about their activism.

Thursday’s show begins with a discussion of the big controversy at the U.S. Justice Department over its handling of the Roger Stone case and President Trump’s interference. Former Vermont U.S. Attorney Tristram Coffin is Dave’s guest. Later, a discussion about horse farming in Vermont with Vermont Horse Council President Heidi Krantz and Chrissy Rohan, lecturer in UVM’s Department of Animal Science.

Wednesday’s show features two political science professors as  bookends — Matt Dickinson of Middlebury College and Linda Fowler of Dartmouth — talking about the New Hampshire primary and the road ahead. In between, Norwich University President Richard Schneider talks about the school’s just completed $100 million fundraising campaign.

Dave’s show opens with a discussion of ethics in government, and whether Vermont needs a code of ethics for public officials. Guests include state Auditor Doug Hoffer and Rep. Sarah Copeland Hanzas, Chair of the House Government Operations Committee.

Dave’s guests include Colin Meyn of VTDigger.org for a Vermont news review; UVM Trustees Vice Chair Ron Lumbra for an update on efforts to bring more diversity to the board; and Cuban-born jazz piano great Elio Villafranca on the help he gave a new Vermont performance venue, the Double E in Essex, to select a new Steinway grand piano. Villafranca performs there Sunday, Feb, 16.

Secretary of State Jim Condos joins Dave to talk about the Iowa caucuses and protections for Vermont’s voting processes. Chris Neitzey of the Afterschool Alliance stops by to talk about plans to expand after school programming for young people. Later, advocates for expanding mental health services for children talk with Dave about the issues.

Dave's first guest Thursday is Steve Pappas, editor and publisher of the Times Argus and Rutland Herald. Max Richtman of the National Association to Preserve Social Security and Medicare talks about proposed changes to those programs. Mark Isselhardt, maple specialist with UVM Extension, talks with Dave about preparations for the upcoming sugaring season.

Wednesday's Dave Gram Show starts with a visit with Adam Sullivan, who's been covering presidential politics for WCAX Channel 3. Congressman Peter Welch then joins Dave for his read on impeachment and presidential politics. Later, Tom Longstreth of ReSource stops in to talk about that organization's multiple missions in recycling and job training, as well as its new headquarters in Williston.
