If you give a group of people enough time you see the group centralize over one extreme idea…and the fringe will drop off. Oh the group may be over which season to use on fish or on how to sound proof your studio or maybe on what religion to believe… maybe even on how to train for a sport! 

 

 

You have to train with crazy people to get crazy results.

You have to push yourself beyond your comfort zone, beyond your uncomfortable zone and PUSH YOURSELF INTO THE I HAVE NO IDEA ZONE… THIS IS BY FAITH! 

 

If you are not living in the crazy zone in some area of your life you are suffering from not achieving your best.

I WILL SAY IT AGAIN… (REPEAT LINE) 

 

Simply put:

If you are not living beyond your means you are not living by faith.

What do i mean

 

What is following Christ about? It is about living in the crazy zone… 

Matthew 4:19 come follow me and give up everything

Luke 12:47 Jesus demands results or else

He demands you choose death Matthew 16:24-26 

John 14:6 Jesus says he is the only way

We are called to live by what you can’t see… live in the invisible. Gal. 3:11

 

So here is a question… how crazy are you living in your faith? How much are you willing to live in your crazy zone for Jesus. 

 

Think about what Jesus was really here to do with the disciples… he was constantly trying to push them into the crazy zone, into a crazy understanding … the faith realm. 

 

A few years ago I had to raise about 200k for a personal project. I had just filed bankruptcy due to cancer cancer cancer brain tumor… hospital bills and failing church and not being able to work full time…. I was not in the position to go ask someone for that kind of money. But I had a dream, I had a word spoken over me, I had a prophetic stream of words come out in my prayer time. God told me to act without money, to build without a clear vision and to start to assemble a team over seas… he then put me in position to meet people supernaturally… through a random kid at an apple store… introduce me to his father… I thought he had forgotten about me… I had people show me favor with insights… and God himself showed me things for the project I am building… but on the outside If you say me you would have said I was crazy… and yes I was, except God calls us to live in the crazy. 

3 days ago on Sunday I spoke in the Seattle area at Kalos church. The night before in my hotel room God showed me a man who would be on the left hand side of the church, african american who would have an issue with his left hip and God was going to heal him… YEP boom it was all for real and came true. He told me about a woman who started a new position at work and I called her on it with a word - boom it was true. He told me about a man in the second row who needed God to prove himself in a certain area… and I walked up to him and boom it was true… 

you gotta be willing to do what only a crazy person would do in your spiritual life if you want to live by faith.

I would rather fail at living crazy faith than to live safe and remain the same.

Seek God in Early Life

So many things we see that are successful come down to timing. 

Forbes magazine printed an article that said over 46% of businesses succeed or fail due to timing. 

and I quote: As Gross pointed out in his speech, Uber and Airbnb, for example, have had incredible success thanks to their innovative solutions and execution. Nevertheless, another core element had a crucial impact on their growth: timing. When both startups launched, the world was going through a recession. People were looking for new ways to earn money. This made them consider renting their homes to strangers or joining a network of drivers. The timing was perfect.

 

What do these verses speak directly to us about? 

Youth is to be sewed - no excuses, not your IQ, not your weight, not your friends or lack of, not your finances, not your spiritual intellect, not your anointing not your marriage…

BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY…

Sew into lots of things, try it all - Try a business, try a new ministry, try a spiritual gift, try a job, try a new route to work… try a new investment, try a new exercise or sport…

But in all things, in all areas try- sew new seed. 

 

 

And Remember: 

you will be old someday and wish you had taken the chance

and 

You will be accountable to God as to what you did and did not do, so be wise in both. 

 

you know electric scooters have taken off in the last ten years. It is reported that lime has surpassed over 250 million… but they were invented in 1915! Bad timing… 

Maybe you tried something years ago and it did not take off… maybe you should try it again. 

I know many business people who started in ministry… dropped out, started successful companies and now are back in ministry. They keep sowing, they keep trying.

Who knows what God has in store for you… and you never will unless you keep planting your seeds!

Resist evil 

#1 Do Good

OR

you are just like everyone else (1 Peter 2:15 explains, “For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.”)

  - You were created to do Good works… let the vengeance be Gods. (Eph. 2:10)

  - You are following Christ example

  - Being Good does not mean passive, or being on the defensive all the time.

Sometimes being good flys in the face of what some people would call good.

Discipline, correction, punishment can look bad - but its good. 

READY FOR THIS… HELL IS GOOD - FOR THOSE THAT DENY CHRIST. 

 

#2 stay close to Jesus - Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?" —John 14:9

 

WWJD

A young man at the gym… so rude, so disrespectful, arrogant… My first thought was “please take a swing at me”… very Godly I know.

 

But I began to reflect… satan wants me to have that mindset, he obviously needs Jesus. So lets do the opposite. Lets love him no matter what!

 

#3 Keep right relationships with God, wife, kids, employer and employee’s 

 

99% of our sin involves poor relationships with others. 

 

#4 Get actively involved in your faith (Bible studies, church attendance, serving others) OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD. 

GK Overcome - Nike - victory in battle.

GK Good - agatheo - what originates from God and is empowered by Him in their life, through faith.

 

 

 

#5 Understand there will be better times… there will be failures, there will be bland lifeless times, there will be victorious times, there will be times of intimacy… But it will always get better if you follow the first 4 steps. 

 

In the dry and hard times of life… do not act on a fleeting emotion of “carnal fulfillment”.

 

Eph. 5:15 So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, in which there is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

 

fleeting emotion of “carnal fulfillment” as if unsaved and worshiping another God.

 

Evil comes many times when we are feeling like we deserve more, life is hard so we need a quick fix…

 

BUT - WHAT DOES IT SAY - BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT DAILY… EVIL CROUCHES AT YOUR DOOR DAILY, YOU BETTER BE FILLED DAILY!

Metallica I am evil… yes I am. Is actually very biblical. 

 

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.…

 

Jeremiah 17:9

“The heart is more deceitful than all else

And is desperately sick;

Who can understand it?

 

AM I EVIL? YES I AM! 

3 Thoughts….

* We must resist excuses - for all have sinned (if we choose to excuse we choose to remain the same- this goes against everything Christ stood for. We are to be transformed, and renewed daily)

* We must also realize it is a process called Sanctification GK = Hagi-Ah-ZO—

 

*consecrate - the process through the cross, *dedicate - you are now Gods, 

*separate - through Gods craftmanship“

 

sanctification HOW?

1. The Word of God

The first agent is Scripture, as is shown in Jesus’s statements “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17) and “Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you” (John 15:3). 

2. The Work of the Spirit

The verse just quoted introduces the second source of character formation: the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Christian character is described as “the fruit of the Spirit” (Gal. 5:22–23). Peter talks of “the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ” (1 Pet. 1:2). And Paul declares, “If by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” (Rom 8:13).

3. The Fellowship of Believers

The third agent in character formation is fellowship with other Christians. Paul says, “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart” (2 Tim. 2:22). The writer to the Hebrews says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works” (Heb. 10:24). 

We must also resist excuses - Comparison to others (our comparison is to Jesus) Matthew 5:48 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

*If you do what’s right… and let God dabble in the payback - you will still look good. You will not taint your Christian walk. 

 

 

Logically if there is a Good there is a Bad, 

If there is a God there is a Devil or an evil in the world

 

How to resist evil… well come on now, I am not evil. I don’t have to work on not being evil. But the truth is - that is just how evil that evil is. You don’t realize how evil we all are. 

 

The word evil first appears in the Bible in Genesis 2:17: “You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

 *God created humans with the ability to choose good and evil. 

Many think of evil people as drug dealers or terrorists, but the Bible is clear that every person has a sin nature and sins in life. The penalty the Bible describes for these sins is death (Romans 6:23).

 

Evil (Gen. 2:17) GK = rah - disagree with God

AGAIN

Two ideas: 

* Evil Is Not Logical

Evil, by definition, is not logical. It is random. Therefore we should not expect it to operate in a righteous way.

*God created humans with the ability to choose good and evil. (To disagree with God) 

 

ITS NEVER GOOD WHEN YOU DISAGREE WITH GOD.

 - Pray in public - I don’t mean like the hypocrite who prayed to impress others, but rather the prayer where you see someone who needs healing, encouragement, in a group setting where there is a need..

 

My wife God bless her is not a “pray in public person”, she will tell you that she did not marry a pastor to be a pastors wife. She just wants to be my wife… and she takes very good care of me. She always says I am her ministry… Love it. I have seen people in groups, bible studies, women’s groups etc… ask my wife to pray and she will confidently say “no thank you”. Now before you judge her, I have also seen her pray for people in public, even lay her hands on them… to her prayer is very intimate and private- and she will pray in public if it is a God thing…. great- but I know many men can pray in public if they use rhetoric or religious verbiage - but can you pray publicly with intimacy and without intimidation. 

 

1. Jesus Prayed Regularly.

2. Jesus Prayed Biblically.

3. Jesus Prayed Confidently.

Jesus prayed publicly 

 

 

 - Hug and kiss those you love in public

Starts at home in front of your kids…

Kiss your loved ones good bye, hello, or just to say i love you. Dads kiss your boys on the cheek, your daughters on the lips or the cheek. Kiss your wives in public, kiss your parents who are aging. 

Do you want to build confidence in your relationships? Build a healthy solid relational self esteem? Be affectionate in public and not just in the bedroom or alone in the kitchen. 

 

 

 - Be the only one: be willing to speak out in a crowd, business mtg, water cooler chat.

Speaking up is when you communicate publicly, assertively, and honestly for the rights and needs of yourself and others. It is at the root of all social change, including within organizations. For many of us, it's easier to advocate for others than it is to speak up for ourselves.

 

If you do anything enough, it gets easier and you get bater at it. 

look Peter spoke out… he did great. You are the son of God… and a few minutes later he spoke out and got rebuked… but he got better… he preached in front those who came to mock them for speaking in tongues…

What skills should a man of God master?

First what is a man of God?

Man of God is a biblical title of respect applied to prophets and beloved religious leaders. The term appears 78 times in 72 verses of the Bible, in application to up to 13 individuals:

 

 

 - Share the gospel. How many who call themselves Christians actually share or proclaim the gospel? 

Well first of all only 60% of Christians feel they should. 40% feel like its not their business or right… IT could turn people off. uh… yea, like a big bloating corpse… a bag of rotting flesh… but we are still called to do it. Cor. 2:16

 

Look if you brag… ok, you don’t even have to brag, but if you call yourself a Professional football player and you don’t actually play on a team…

if you say you can outsell anyone

If you say you can bench 500 lbs

If you say you treat your wife like a queen…

If you can’t back it up - you stink!

 

If you say you are a Christian… I am just not buying it if you don’t actively share/proclaim the gospel. 

 

Lets be clear - you will probably go to heaven… but you won’t earn any respect from me as a man of God.

You can’t be around these guys for more than a day or so and you will hear them share the gospel with everyone and anyone. 

 

 

 - Know at least one topic really really well in scripture. 

If I asked you to teach me a topic in scripture… just one topic. Could you? You can pick the topic… judgment, love, righteousness, Moses… but have you climbed into your bible and consumed it to know everything you can on that subject? If someone called you out of the audience at church and said “hey we need you to kill 15 minutes while our speaker gets here…. could you do it? would you know enough about a topic you could teach it and then answer questions about it? 

 

 

 - Have a proven track record of never giving up. 

Prov. 24:16 for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

What impresses me more than anything… literally anything - is someone who just will not give up. I have a friend who has started 7 or 8 businesses. Most people see him as flighty, or a failure or he can’t finish what he started. NOT ME. I see him as a fighter, a winner, a soon to be millionaire. I admire and even want more of what he’s got. 

People who succeed with little effort or who just win or have it handed to them… not impressed in the least, and actually feel a little sorry for them. A man may fall down 7 times, but he gets back up… notice it doesn’t say that he finally never falls again, that he finally wins… not it just means he keeps getting back up. And by the way the number seven means forever… you never quit getting back up.

First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. 6Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before swine. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.…

 

 

Let me be completely blunt. In todays world we think that to be a man of God we have to know our bible inside and out, have supernatural powers flow from us, lead a ministry, be able to defend our faith, preach, teach, evangelize etc…. Bottom line- the world is so crapped out and pathetic that all you need to do to stand out like a man of God is be able to call out sin! Do it in humor, do it in love but just do it!

But today the word Man or masculinity is as abrasive to some as the word God. Put them together and you could get fireworks. And what blows my mind even more are many of the well intentioned stupid Christians who think Masculinity is not Godly. 

 

For example, Masculinity receives labels such as "toxic," and the idea of the patriarchy is condemned. Contrary to these mainstream beliefs in the world, the Bible does speak of men highly. All of Jesus' apostles were men, the Bible was written primarily by men, and according to Scripture, men are to be the head of the household, they are to lead, sacrifice and even be the ones willing to give up their lives for their families. 

 

What’s a man? 

"After removing him, he raised up David as their king and testified about him, 'I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart, who will carry out all my will.'" (Acts 13:22)

Be like Jesus…

ok, yea but Jesus was peaceful, loving, merciful and gracious - he was, and we should practice the same. But Jesus also rebuked the Pharisees using harsh language, He made fun of them, He said if someone harms a child they should be drown at sea… and lets not forget Jesus is coming back to establish his rule and reign… and it won’t be through voting, or peaceful manners… he will come back to crush and annihilate his enemies. There are dozens of men in the bible mentioned for their exploits in battle… Godly men. 

Do we need a balance? For sure - but in todays world we have swung so far over we have put Jesus in a pair of plaid pants, a lemon yellow sweater vest and penny loafers…. 

 

 

 

 - Defend your character in serenity. 

Approach another man and be able to confidently and calmly disagree after being attacked verbally by the other men. 

*Perg - You can’t call me lazy.

 

 - Mock sin (not the sinner, but boldly mock sin)

Porn… are you kidding me, you can’t get a woman to marry you and learn to please her? (well I like variety… no you like not having to be responsible proving your character to the same woman… you keep moving around so you don’t have to change…. so I guess you are irresponsible and can’t please a true woman. Dude you seriously need to understand what a poser you are) Porn is like a badge one wears stating I have to watch it because I don’t have a happy wife at home to do it with.

Your life at best is 90 years old… and most likely Jesus is coming back in the next couple years anyway…but regardless…. 90 years compared to eternity.
