We’ve come along way with this investigation. Today we focus on the owner of the Reel-To-Reel recorder, Ken Cooper, as we go from barely knowing anything about him, to discovering a great deal. Hopefully there’ll be a final part, in which we get to chat with some of the people who were on this recording, made 55 years ago, but for now, here’s the penultimate instalment of our reel-to-reel based mystery.

Today we are thrown a bit of a curveball regarding David Cooper, yet we nevertheless seem to be edging ever closer to uncovering the people behind this mysterious old reel-to-reel recording.

Following yesterday’s dramatic revelations, our investigation continues, as we hopefully start edging closer to finding out more about this mysterious reel-to-reel recording, and the people behind it.

Part four of our investigation to track down the people involved in a 1960s/70s reel-to-reel tape recording. Yesterday, we uncovered a major clue, in the form of some names. One of the names was Steven Mainprize. A Google search led to a couple of possible matches, one of which was Stephen Mainprize, owner of Mainprize Upholstery. So today, I gave that Steven Mainprize a call, and this is what happened.

In 2008, my friend Ben went to a car boot sale in Scarborough, where, For some strange reason he decided on a whim to buy an old reel-to-reel tape recorder. When he got the recorder home, he noticed that there was a tape inside the box. The contents of that reel-to-reel tape launched us on an unexpected journey of discovery, as we investigate the recording, making some rather exciting and dramatic findings.
