In Chapter 6 of The Giver, it becomes apparent that the community members are heavily relient on each other. The big question: Is the community just suppressing emotions, trying to survive, or both? In Chapter 4 and the first part of Chapter 5, the reader gets a better glimps of the tight regulations of the community as we delve into Jonis's first hint of the releasing ceremony in Chapter 4 and the sharing of dreams in Chapter 5.

In CHAPTER 3 of The Giver, we notice that Jonis is able to see things,  others don't, but is he the only one?  Listen to this deep dive to find out what happens in Chapter 3 as well as to hear my theory on why Jonis and possibly others notice these things.

Chapters 1 and 2 of The Giver introduce the reader to the lack of emotions exhibited by the characters. Is it really as simple as dystopian magic, or is there a deeper meaning?

As readers dive deeper into Chapter 2 of the giver, the theme of emotional suppression becomes increasingly noticable.

The giver is a complex plot with the themes of a false utopia and the importance of individuality. Listen to this deep dive of Chapter 1 so get a basic idea of how the characters live there day to day lives. Also, I will sharing a couple of my theories about specific parts of the plot.
