In today's Minisode, I discuss this quote by Martin Luther King Jr.:

"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness implies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.”

In light of the recent invasion of Ukraine by Russia, this quote is running through my mind.  My heart and prayers are with the Ukrainian people.   🇺🇦

I've been struggling with sadness lately.  The loss of my mom, only two months ago, being sick for two months, the current hostile divide I see in my own family, in my country, and the world.  The invasion of Ukraine by Russia is just another heartbreaking event.  

Today, I share my heart, my struggle, and how we can send more love into all the hurting places.  In ourselves and in the world.

If you're a woman in your middle years, like me, you've most likely spent decades believing the message that you must sacrifice yourself for everyone else.  That everyone else's needs come first.  That you should come last.  

Here in our middle years, it's time to finally invest in ourself and our dreams.  To allow ourself to begin creating the life we REALLY want to live.  To recognize our worth and value.  That we deserve to come first sometimes.  

It's time to take our power back.  To put our stake in the ground and declare that we are going to finally do the "thing" we've been wanting to do for yeeeeaaaars!

Is so easy to think when to get to middle-age, that it's too late to create the life we want to live.  That's simply BS.

While some people are able to start living their purpose earlier, most of don't get to that place until later.  After we've gained some wisdom from decades of life experiences.
