Kathy Joseph is a historian of physics and the force behind @KathyLovesPhysics , an exploration of the cultural, historical, and social forces that shape physics behind the scenes. We talk to her about unconventional paths to science, the value of understanding history, the surprising ways in which science is shaped by cultural fashions, how materialism came and went, the birth of the aether, and the campaign to discredit relativity as a “Jewish science”

PODCAST INFO: Anastasia completed her PhD studying bioelectricity at Columbia University. When not talking to brilliant people or making movies, she spends her time painting, reading, and guiding backcountry excursions. Shilo also did his PhD at Columbia studying the elastic properties of molecular water. When he's not in the film studio, he's exploring sound in music. They are both freelance professors at various universities.
