  • Episode 253-What Really Got Us Here
In this episode, I am making some changes to the way I record: I'm challenging myself to grow by no longer using a pre-recorded intro and outro. For this episode, I discuss an article I read on TheAtlantic.com in which the author asserts that a branch of Christianity known as "Prosperity Theology" contributed in large part to the housing market collapse. I relate this to a personal experience in which I currently find myself. Here's the link to the article, which I invite everybody to read and decide for themselves: http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200912/rosin-prosperity-gospel Music Today: "Money" by Mevio Music Alley group Theory in Motion "The Future of Life" by Mevio Music Alley artist Jake Niemi "New Beginnings" by Mevio Music Alley group Makara's Pen Intro Music: "Deep Cycle Discharge" by Music Alley artists Simon James and Derek K. • Episode 249-Renaissance
I catch up my regular listeners on what has been happening for the last few weeks. This is the first That Blue Jeans Guy that I have done on the Mac and with the new mixer, and I'm still getting some things figured out. Please tell me what you think about the sound quality. I talk about the disappointing loss for same-sex marriage in Maine, and how we can handle this in a way that those who oppose us will not be expecting. It will make a difference if we do not allow ourselves to be dragged down by this occasion. For my fellow SYTYCD fans, just a quick reminder that the So You Think You Can Dance Updates with Michael Sage will resume next week when America gets the vote. Michael and I look forward to bringing you our take on all the dancing! Also, don't forget that anybody who listens is invited to do an episode of "David's Salon" with me. • David's Salon 2-With Kenny Proffitt

Recently Kenny Proffitt (also known as "Kenny, the Listener Who Knew Me When") came to visit me here in Bay City. It was the first time we had seen each other since he was graduated from high school in 1986.Before Kenny arrived, we agreed to do another of the "David's Salon" shows together. What I didn't know was that Kenny was also going to gift me with his well-loved Mac Mini. Finally, I have joined the ranks of the Mac Podcasters! Oh, and did I mention I have a new Peavey 6-channel USB mixer, too? Yeah, and a second Shure microphone. I'm blessed, for sure! With my new "toy" put together, Kenny and I settled down over some adult beverages to discuss politics, religion, energy policy...you know, the light and airy stuff. We did have a great time, and we hope you'll enjoy the fruits of our labors (or was it the labors of two fruits?) Either way, we invite you to join the discussion.
