  • Episode 246-Looking on the Bright Side
My voice was giving out on me, so this ended up being a short show. I touch on the controversy surrounding President Obama's recent speaking engagement at the HRC dinner during the March on Washington. I also touch briefly on the controversy surrounding Michelangelo Signorelli's asking HRC president Joe Solomonese to resign. For my fellow SYTYCD fans, just a quick reminder that the So You Think You Can Dance Updates with Michael Sage will resume when Season 6's Top 20 is announced. Michael and I look forward to bringing you our take on all the dancing! Also, don't forget that anybody who listens is invited to do an episode of "David's Salon" with me. Just have a topic--any topic--and get in touch with me to set up a recording time. Music Today: "Where Would You Be?" by Music Alley artist Vittoria Conn "Soulution (Peace Within)" by Music Alley group The Radical Thought Resistance Intro Music: "Deep Cycle Discharge" by Music Alley artists Simon James and Derek K. Miller Outro Music: "Power Inside" by Music Alley and PodsafeAudio.com group The MSU Orchestra (formerly known as EL84) Thanks for listening, and Stay Powerful!

  • Episode 245-When All Else Fails, Rewrite It!
For this week's show, I focus on what is perhaps the most unbelievable idea ever to come from a conservative mind: a project to produce a conservative-friendly Bible. Even if you are not a fan of the Bible or Christianity, this project provides some interesting insights into the mindset of a group of people who have hijacked the term "conservative," and used it for their own selfish purposes. Check out the Conservative Bible Project at Conservapedia.com Come on, you know you wanna listen... For my fellow SYTYCD fans, just a quick reminder that the So You Think You Can Dance Updates with Michael Sage will resume when Season 6's Top 20 is announced. • Episode 244-Making Memories with Casey Stratton
Casey Stratton is a Michigan native and a musician who has made the trek from independent artist to signed artist, and then back to independent again. Casey's newest album (his twelfth regular album) is called Memories and Photographs, and it is a trip through the emotional experience of letting go of a relationship and the resulting catharsis. Casey joined me recently for an over-the-phone interview during which we discuss his newest album, his musical career so far, and so much more. Needless to say, I feature a lot of his music. Featured tracks are: "Not the Garden" from Signs of Life From *Memories and Photographs*: "Shut You Down" "The Most Human Thing" "Sea Change" "I Fail Again" And Casey's non-album cover of the Michael Jackson classic "Man in the Mirror" Check out CaseyStratton.com for all the latest on Casey's music, his touring schedule, and lots of free stuff. Thanks to Casey for doing the interview, and thanks to you for listening and for supporting independent music!

  • Episode 243-Lots to be Happy About
This week, it was announced that a vaccine has shown 31% effectiveness at preventing HIV infection. It's not perfect, but it does provide hope for many out there. I also talk about the joys of social media and how much I love the fact that one of my all-time favorite teachers just became a Facebook friend. (The other all-time favorite one already was!) For my fellow SYTYCD fans, just a quick reminder that the So You Think You Can Dance Updates with Michael Sage will resume when Season 6's Top 20 is announced. • David's Salon 1-With Anthony Anselmo

Welcome to a new podcast concept from the creator of "That Blue Jeans Guy!" This podcast is based on salon discussion groups in which people gather to discuss a topic requiring forethought and often logical and critical thinking. Discussions may feature lively debate, but in a respectful and civil atmosphere. Where it differs from salon groups is that only the host and one guest will have the discussion. In this premiere episode, my guest for the hour is Anthony Anselmo, and the topic is gays and religion. Anthony is the host of a plethora of podcasts, all of which can be accessed by going to his site, AnthonyAnselmo.com Intro and Outro Music is "Talk to Me" by Mevio Music Alley artist Aaron. I found out that Jeri Sager, a former Broadway actress and a person who I had the privilege of calling a friend is about to release her third album and is performing all over the world. You go, girl! Check out JeriSager.com to see video, hear album previews, and--of course--order her music (she is an indie artist, after all!) I also mark the passing of Senator Edward M. • Episode 239-Wonderful Serendipity
The video for Phil Putnam's song "I'm No Prize" is currently #1 on MTV's Logo Channel. You really do want to see this video, I assure you... I had a completely unexpected and completely exciting development in my quest to be at the podcaster get-together at next year's Gay Days. I decided to put aside the politics this week and share some great new music I found, as well as some older and newer favorites by guests on shows past. Thanks again always for your support and for supporting these great independent musicians. • Episode 238-Was Jesus a Socialist?
Life has been good, and things are looking up. A Facebook discussion with a high school friend and ordained minister inspired me to talk about whether Jesus would be for or against national health care. Even if you are not of a religious persuasion, you owe it to yourself to consider what may be a significant portion of the pushback against health care reform. Music Today: "When Sound Had Feel" by Music Alley artist R Scott "They Don't Deliver" by Music Alley artist Trev Gibb Intro Music: "Deep Cycle Discharge" by Music Alley artists Simon James and Derek K.
