For most of my career, I was a restorative dentist, taking pride in the restorations and occlusion I provided for my patients, however I was treating a symptom of a bigger problem, an airway or sleep issue. You don't know what you don't know, we must look at airway first before restoring any tooth or dentition.

About the speaker: Layne Martin graduated StonyBrook School of Dental Medicine in 1998, where he received a scholarship from the US Navy. After a distinguished career in the Navy, Dr Martin entered private practice. He completed the Kois Continuum in 2013, and became a mentor at the Kois Center in 2014. Layne sold his restorative dental practice in 2018. He completed the Tufts mini airway residency and became a Diplomate of the ABDSM in 2020. He is currently a fellow at CTOR in Hoboken, NJ, in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics and will be completing his program in June,2021. He has committed the rest of his career to treating sleep disordered breathing problems.
