On this week's episode we have Maine Blind Bear and US National Team member, Dirk Morgan. Dirk is one of the larger personalities in the Blind Hockey community and we were really glad to get him on and learn more about his story. We talk to him about the importance of hockey sense, and the "warnings" we've gotten about him. We also discuss Stargardt's disease and how that's impacted his play style. We could have kept talking for another four hours, Dirk's knowledge of hockey and passion were infectious and we'll definitely be bringing him back on for more!

On this week's episode we have the man that started it all, Kevin Shanley, on the show! We get to talk to him about his current profession and what led him to trying Blind Hockey in Toronto. Let's just say he's a braver man then most, and we're all better off for him taking those first steps. We'll also discuss the beginnings of Blind Hockey here in the United States and what we can do to continue our growth. A couple announcements in there as well:

Try Blind Hockey (Covid Permitting) will be happening on Feb 20th, if you want to get involved reach out to your local team or USA hockey to find out who your closest program might be. This is a great opportunity for Blind and Visually Impaired folks to dip their toe into the sport and get a feel for the ice.

The Windy City Blind Hockey Showdown (Covid Permitting) will be taking place here in Chicago on July 22nd-25th, this tournament will feature the best of the Blind Hockey community in the United States as well as the next generation of players that form the future of our sport. More information will become available in the near future.

On our sixth episode we have the Dehn's (pronounced Deans) from the Dallas Blind Hockey program. As coaches their perspective on our game is from a different angle and we learn about how they plan their practices, help support the players and other volunteers, and are helping to grow the sport of Blind Hockey. As we say throughout our episode, the volunteers are the folks that help us play the game we love, and help keep the forward momentum in gaining visibility. This is definitely not one to miss!

On this episode of the Dented Puck we finally get Chicago Blackhawks Blind Hockey's Goalie, Bill Landram, on the show. After many technical difficulties we manage to put together an incredible episode! We got to learn about Bill's history as a minor league pitcher, find out more about Beep Baseball and learn what it takes to be a Goalie in Blind Hockey. It's been said plenty of times, but Goalies are a special breed, and Bill is a shining example of that.
