Every vacation ends.
Most end with photographs, souvenirs, and promises to return.

In the breathtaking conclusion to Campfire Files, Nina and Paul spend one final night inside Birch House as a dense Atlantic fog and coastal storm isolate the cottage from the rest of the world. Outside, Penobscot Bay disappears beneath wind and rain. Inside, the house quietly
resumes the routine it has practiced for generations.
The locked room opens once more.
The missing suitcase returns.
And this time...
it isn't empty.
Inside are the belongings Nina and Paul intended to pack the following morning—carefully folded, organized, and waiting exactly as though someone, or something, had anticipated their departure before they had.
As dawn approaches, they flee Birch House, abandoning part of their vacation and leaving behind questions that no caretaker, homeowner, or investigator can answer. Months later, after returning to Arizona, they discover that perhaps they never left the Bennett Place behind at all.
The House That Hadn't Been Emptied concludes with a quiet realization that lingers long after the final page: perhaps old houses don't haunt people...
Perhaps they simply refuse to forget them.
