Welcome back! I’m thrilled you’re joining me for Season Five of The Devoted Dreamers Podcast. I’m just back from maternity leave and wanted to take a few minutes to catch you up following my absence, including details on what’s to come on the podcast (like some local, Denver area, meet-up opportunities) and a preview our first episode back.

How has the “broken mindset” kept you from all that God created you to be? Or from the dreams He created you to pursue for His Kingdom?

If you’ve been with us for the last two episodes of On-Air Coaching between me, life coach Cynthia Culver, and Devoted Dreamers listener Lois Martin, maybe you’ve begun to consider your answers to these two questions.

Or, if you’ve started working through the homework (by the way, you’ll find it here, with additional info here and here about how to get the most out of the worksheets) maybe you’ve begun to identify what your broken mindset looks like, feels like or sounds like.

Or maybe you’re a little behind, and if that’s the case, you'll want to listen to Session I or Session II before you listen this one, for a little context.

In this conversation, the final episode in our three-part series, Cynthia focuses on the DEVELOPMENT component of coaching. You’ll hear us cover some topics that might resonate with you:

Have you ever wondered what God might do with the passions He’s put in your heart?

Ponder this question with me, life coach Cynthia Culver, and Devoted Dreamers listener Lois Martin in this second of three bonus On-Air Coaching calls.

In this episode, Cynthia’s questions focus on the DIRECTION component of coaching. You’ll hear us cover some topics that maybe you’ve been wrestling with too:

• The deep passion in your heart that feels God-given
• The fear that you might pursue that passion poorly
• Wondering if pursuing your passion/dream is too self-focused
• Wanting to live freely – in the Spirit – as you pursue your dream

Cynthia touches on the Session II homework here, too. It’s focused on helping you understand the mindset of truth, which is all the ways you think when you choose to operate out of God’s word and His truth instead from your fear or your broken mindset.

We talk a lot around here about trying things out, taking baby steps, and figuring out where God is leading you by just doing something (instead of nothing).

Several months ago, I was talking with my friend Cynthia Culver (Ep. 37) about the possibility of testing out an On-Air Coaching session with a listener. We put the word out that we were going to give this a try, found a willing volunteer, and just went for it.

While I'm on maternity leave for the summer, I've prepared a few mini-episodes, each covering a specific topic related to pursuing your God-shaped dream. 

Special guest Heather Conklin and I talk in this one about how letting your dream lie fallow can be a good thing for both you and your dream. She shares how this practice is utilized in farming to allow fields to rest and regain nutrients and how she’s interpreting it for taking a break from The Practical Minimalist Podcast for the summer.  

If you or your dream could use a creative boost, this 15-minute conversation will help you consider the bold, courageous, and somewhat scary move you might make to put your dream on hold for a season with no expectations or plans for what might come in the future.  

Heather Conklin is a Memphis transplant now living near Boulder, Colorado.
