On June 23, 1997, eighteen-year-old Kristen Deborah Modafferi clocked out of her shift at Spinelli's Coffee in the Crocker Galleria in San Francisco's Financial District and was seen forty-five minutes later, on the second level of the arcade, walking with an unidentified blonde woman. She has not been seen since.
