We're finally back! We had some shit come up that kept us away, but we're getting back in the saddle. I wasn't going to post this episode because of my horrible audio quality. However, the podcast @2200Taps was able to salvage what she could so we could get it out for you scumbags!
In this episode we discuss what you should bring underway if you're newly reporting to a ship as well as continue with the FRC namesakes and cover the USCGC Joseph Napier. We also got a new sponsor for you guys. This episode is sponsored by Manscaped, use code: SAILOR for 20% off your order at www.manscaped.com!
In this episode we discuss what to expect when newly reporting to a small boat station as well as continue with the FRC Namesakes. We also bring on a special guest Skip from KnoticalUSA.
If you didn't already know KnoticalUSA makes some of the best departing gifts around. He can make paddles, plaques, challenge coins, etc... the list goes on and on. Go check his website out at www.knoticalusa.com as well as follow him on Instagram @knoticalusa and let him know the Disgruntled Sailor sent ya!
In this episode we have the bridge brothers back on to check in and see what has been going on since we last recorded with them. We cover TACLET, being a new CO, no new swag we got in, some great new beer and funny stories.
In this episode we finally reveal the newest sponsor of the podcast Georgia Beer! We also cover SafeTalk and how you can be better prepared to help your shipmates in need, and continue with the FRC namesakes and cover the CGC Isaac Mayo.
We couldn't be more happy to FINALLY have a BEER sponsor! We are super excited to be working with another Coastie owned business. Well one of the owners is a Coastie, but still! Georgia Beer is a new beer company to both Mr.Miami and myself, however we have not been disappointed in the quality of their beer. Go check them out on Instagram @georgiabeerco or on the web at www.georgiabeerco.com and tell them the Disgruntled Sailor sent ya!
In this episode we are covering credentialing. Whether you want to get out and be a merchant mariner, six pack captain, or something not even remotely related to your CG job, this episode should get you heading in the right direction. We talk about CG COOL, MILGEARS, Joint service Transcripts and some other stuff pertaining to free education services. We are also continuing with our FRC namesake segment, and as usual, some ridiculous notions from Mr. Miami. Thank for listening and TELL YOUR DIRTBAG FRIENDS!!
In this episode we see who wins best coffee in the fleet. Three active duty and veteran owned CG coffee companies went head to head in a taste test conducted by members in the fleet. The companies involved were Staunch Coffee Co., Humble Beginnings Coffee Co., and Oak & Iron Coffee Co. All the companies have been great and make way better coffee than most of your mess deck swill... Mr. Miami and myself did not participate in any of the official taste tests so there was no bias. All scores were given by active duty members in the fleet. We also talk about a pigeon who helped save hundreds of Americans during WW1.
Also, sorry for the bad audio, we were having some technical difficulties.....
This episode is dedicated to AETC Hoke Harper (AKA The Aviator). Hoke crossed the bar on March 17, 2022. We were lucky enough to have him on the show and he will be forever missed. This beer's for you!
In part 1 of this episode we break dive into medical evaluation boards with a genuine Chief Health Services Technician.
