Using metagenomics-guided plasmid design, a first-in-LAB aTc-inducible promoter, and strain-specific consensus signal peptides derived from exoproteome analysis, Anik Debnath (Church lab, 2018) built the first integrated toolkit for engineering probiotic *Lactobacillus* to secrete therapeutic-dose VHH nanobodies — achieving >10 µg/mL anti-gp120 and anti-TNFα VHH from both *L. rhamnosus* GG and *L. gasseri* with neutralization potency within 2% of conventionally produced antibody. An international research team led by Assistant Professor Ryuji Takasaki of the Faculty of Biosphere-Geosphere Science at Okayama University of Science has published a paper proposing a new hypothesis on the evolutionary history of dinosaur digestive systems by focusing on gastroliths—stones found within dinosaur abdominal cavities.
