On Episode 17 of the Distorted Dialogue Podcast, Cleveland guitarist Vanik stops by and explains what went into his newest album IV. Recorded on the road with Midnight, Vanik explains how he captured this specific time in his life, and how it worked out well. He announces his departure from Midnight, working in his studio mixing, creating cereals, and a million other projects.
One of the hardest working dudes in metal, Vanik explains how he had to exit Midnight so he could focus on some of his other projects, and his family. A really down to earth discussion, I had a blast chatting with this ripper of a guitarist and it seems to come across here. Check it out!

On Episode 16, I sit down with Simon White the one man behind the English black metal band Vosforis. We sit down and discuss the newest album, Cosmic Cenotaph, and how it came about. I can't tell if it's a black metal album, a death metal album, or whatever you want to call it, it kicks ass. With Adrian Erlandsson on drums, it can lean towards the melodic death metal side, but honestly who the hell is complaining?
As a debut album for Vosforis, this album rips. Was so happy to chat with Simon who got me listening to Nine Inch Nails again, as we discuss the influences that went into shaping Simon's sound. A wide appealing record, that I hated to put a label on, Simon expands my viewpoints, and was a great conversation, check it out here.

On Episode 15 of the Distorted Dialogue Podcast, I sit down with Portuguese Blackened Progressive metal band Aoidos' frontman, Freitanas. He explains what went into their debut album Oizys, how the band formed, and how a piano ended up in a heavy metal album. Freitanas explains how they write riffs, and the attention to detail they all put into crafting this side. Not only a punishing album, it's just as beautiful, so you have to check it out!
Thanks to Freitanas for swinging by, and their bassist Ekid, who was there the day before when I forgot to hit the record button. Good news is, we got to dive a little bit deeper into their sound. He explains how the pandemic affected the composition of the album and his general outlook on his music, and introduced so many different outlooks on music. really a great interview, check it out here!

On Episode 14, Ian Burton from his band Ian Blurton's Future Now, sits down and discusses his newest release Crimes of the City. We discuss where he gets his influences from, the Blood Incantation album Absolute Elsewhere, Wishbone Ash, and so many different bands that have a great sound.
We discuss the touring of Canada, the costs of touring the states, merch cuts, and what are some of the hangups of touring is. I can't get enough of Crimes for the City, which you can tell here, and I was stoked to find out what all went into crafting this sound. A comfortable modern classic rock sound, mixed with some doom, psych and stoner rock influences, makes this feel like one of the most comfortable albums I have heard in awhile.

A conversation with Michael Nystrom-Bala from Necronomicon Ex Mortis, where we talk about the new EP, Mother of Death, which is a quick little EP that I absolutely loved. We discuss where his inspiration comes from, horror movies that he loves so much more. Michael goes on to explain the balance between guitarists, the writing process of the band, and the attention to detail that went into crafting the Mother of Death.
And make sure you check out the Mother of Death, as it is full of some killer horror inspired death metal songs! This isn't just a straight forward Death Metal album, there's thrash metal, some doom, and all kinds of other metal influences.
