  • Larse - From Ibiza Sunsets to Launching VASH Recordings on the Virtual Sessions 10/2/25
Larse joins from Dortmund, Germany, bringing his soulful and emotive take on house music to the conversation. Fresh from a trip to Ibiza, he reflects on playing at Six Senses, a sunset performance that coincided with the launch of his new single and his label, VASH Recordings. For him, music is about creating vibes that capture a moment, whether through deep house grooves, soulful vocals, or downtempo textures. He describes his journey from sampling vinyl as a teenager to producing on an Atari with Cubase in the early 90s, highlighting how limitations pushed his creativity. Today, with decades of experience and millions of streams behind him, his perspective balances artistry with the realities of modern streaming and promotion. While the industry has shifted from downloads to streams, he believes longevity and authenticity remain the real measures of success. Family plays a central role in his life, with his kids often reminding him of balance between studio time and personal time. He admits that staying fit and managing health is a challenge, but one made easier by the energy of parenthood. His children may prefer hip-hop, but they occasionally peek into his world, bringing a new layer of inspiration. Looking ahead, Larse is focused on growing VASH Recordings, building it first with his own tracks and eventually expanding to artists he believes in. His advice for upcoming producers is simple: finish your tracks, trust your instincts, and release music you fully stand behind. With new reworks like Chicane’s Offshore on the way, he shows no sign of slowing down. Topics 0:12 - Reflections on Ibiza performances and avoiding storms 3:14 - Describing his sound as soulful house with deep emotions 4:38 - Celebrating a release party and new single launch 7:44 - Favorite food spots in Ibiza and Formentera 9:05 - Early inspirations and falling in love with vinyl 11:03 - Transition from hardware sampling to digital production 13:10 - Balancing music career with parenting and fitness 15:23 - Launching VASH Recordings and its vision 17:28 - Working with Defected and lessons from top labels 29:38 - Dream event ideas, food passions, and new projects Connect with Larse

About Larse - Embarking in the nineties, Larse swiftly rose to prominence in Germany’s music scene. His DJ talent caught the attention of 1LIVE Radio, landing him a 15-year gig co-hosting “1LIVE Klubbing.” This journey earned him a German Dance Awards nod and a dedicated fanbase, leading to gigs worldwide. His 2011 track “The More I Want” wowed Ibiza and renowned artists. He continued his rise with hits like “So Long” on Noir Music and a gold record for his remix of Candi Staton’s “Hallelujah Anyway.” Larse’s live presence graced esteemed venues including Fabric in London, Sankeys in Manchester, Polar Lounge in NYC and Booom in Ibiza. With 70 million+ plays and 200k+ monthly Spotify listeners, he’s a digital mainstay. In 2020, he dropped “We Were Young” on Musumeci’s label, followed by remixes and collaborations with names like Jazzanova, Till von Sein, Shit Robot to name a few. 2022 saw his triumphant return to Defected with “A Part Of,” topping charts once again and earning nods from DJ Harvey, Bob Sinclar, and Diplo. With his 2024 Version of the legendary Candi Staton Remix, Larse got massive support from the Keinemusik crew, who constantly dropped the unreleased remix in all their shows around the globe, leading to the long awaited release in July on Defected as well. Playing Glitterbox at the worlds No.1 Club HI Ibiza this summer, Larse’s musical journey remains an ode to passion and dedication in the electronic realm. • ASTOR - Balancing Finance and Progressive House Dreams on the Virtual Sessions
Summary Liam McNamara, known as ASTOR, brings a unique story of blending a full-time finance career with an emerging path as a DJ and producer. Based in New York City, he describes how his love for progressive house grew from festival experiences and artists like Avicii, Calvin Harris, and the Chainsmokers. For ASTOR, music follows cycles, and he believes the melodic, euphoric energy of progressive house is ready for a resurgence in the global scene. Originally pursuing music as a hobby after completing his CFA exams, ASTOR quickly evolved from curiosity to club performances. His breakthrough came when he was offered the chance to open for Julian Jordan, followed by opportunities to share the stage with Hardwell and Nicky Romero. These early shows fueled his commitment to production, supported by mentorship from Mikey Ferrari, who guided him from the basics of Ableton to creating professional tracks. With releases like Storm, Holding Tight, and most recently Stars, ASTOR has demonstrated consistency in hitting his yearly release goals. He explains how regimented schedules, daily practice, and goal setting allow him to balance demanding work with music creation. His success on Revealed Radar with Holding Tight marked a major milestone, proving that persistence pays off even while self-releasing. ASTOR also shares his experience at Afrojack’s Wall Pro Academy writer’s camp during Tomorrowland, calling it an inspiring and transformative moment that pushed him further. Looking forward, he aims for bigger festival stages while staying grounded with small club sets, always focused on connecting emotionally with his audience through melody and energy. • Andrea Grasselli (ATCG) - From Persistence to Global Tech House Recognition on the Virtual Sessions 9/25/25
Summary Andrea Grasselli, better known as ATCG, joins from Milan to share how persistence and passion have shaped his career in electronic music. Starting with his unique artist name, derived from being born in 1989 at the close of the 80s, he emphasizes how identity plays a role in connecting with audiences. His path has been fueled by determination, from sending over a thousand demos to Patrick Topping before finally earning a release on Trick, to reimagining Tujamo’s hit Who into an Afro Latin remix that gained official recognition. Andrea reflects on the realities of production, often creating hundreds of demos but selecting only a fraction for release. He highlights the importance of management teams like Origami, who have helped him align with the right labels at the right moments. His cover of Rihanna’s Don’t Stop the Music stands as a career milestone, reaching number one on BeatForce after initially being intended only as a VIP remix. Balancing music with personal passions, Andrea speaks about late-night production sessions, staying grounded with football and motorcycling, and overcoming creative blocks by exploring other genres. He shares candid stories of hearing his music unexpectedly in restaurants, managing the highs and lows of festival performances, and decompressing from the adrenaline of live shows. Andrea’s advice for upcoming artists is simple yet powerful: consistency outweighs raw talent. With residencies across Milan, Bergamo, and Cremona, and upcoming performances at ADE, he continues to carve out his place in the global tech house community while keeping his creative roots and Italian pride at the center of his journey. • Nikki Camilleri - Building Artist Success Through Strategy and Super Fans on the Virtual Sessions 9/24/25
Summary Nikki Camilleri joins from London to share her inspiring journey in the music industry, from her early beginnings in Malta to making her mark as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree. Raised with a love for art but limited opportunities in creative industries, Nikki discovered her passion through the Young Enterprise competition, which propelled her to the UK and into a career that combined business acumen with music. Her story highlights the power of persistence, internships, and hands-on learning, which ultimately led her to roles at Warner Records and eventually to founding her own venture, Mana. She explains how Mana began as small workshops in 2019 and evolved into a full-fledged company offering mentorship, A&R, and strategy services for independent artists. Nikki emphasizes that artists today cannot work alone – building a team and understanding business fundamentals are essential to longevity. She advocates for careful planning while remaining adaptable, likening an artist’s career to a constantly evolving startup. A key part of Nikki’s philosophy revolves around the concept of super fans. She contrasts them with passive listeners, showing how dedicated supporters drive revenue through tickets, merch, and direct engagement. By focusing on relationship-building and capturing fan data, artists can create sustainability beyond fleeting social media trends. Nikki also touches on the importance of PR, distribution, and brand positioning as interconnected building blocks for artist growth. Her outlook is practical yet optimistic: test ideas early, embrace creativity in marketing, and invest in long-term connections. With projects like TEDx event organizing and a focus on community-driven knowledge, Nikki continues to push boundaries while championing artists at every stage. • Jvst Breathe - From Software Engineering to Musical Expression on the Virtual Sessions 9/23/25
Summary Tavian, better known as Jvst Breathe, shares his journey from classical training and computer science into electronic music, revealing how his analytical background fuels creativity. Growing up playing trombone, trumpet, violin, and guitar, music always came naturally, though he paused during high school and college to focus on sports and studies. After graduating in computer science, he faced a crossroads between climbing the corporate ladder or pursuing passion. Choosing music, he discovered production as both a challenge and an outlet for self-expression. He reflects on early struggles and breakthroughs, explaining how turbulent life experiences and relationships drove him to create. Music became a necessity, a way to translate emotion into sound. His artistic name Jvst Breathe symbolizes mindfulness, spirituality, and a reminder to pause amid chaos. Inspiration comes from adventures, emotions, and the energy of dance floors, with festivals and raves shaping his understanding of how sound can connect and move people. Production-wise, Tavian primarily uses Ableton Live and Serum, focusing on software-based sound design while learning to reintroduce analog instruments. He openly discusses overcoming creative blocks by taking breaks or diving into new learning, a process that mirrors his engineering mindset. Influences range from Taiki Nulight to Eminem, with admiration for local peers like Joosh who inspire him through performance and creativity. Looking ahead, Tavian teases new originals, remixes, and live mixes, including a Lil Wayne remix and exclusive sets recorded at beach events. With a focus on authenticity, growth, and community, Jvst Breathe is carving a unique path that blends technical skill, emotional honesty, and a vision for innovation in dance music. Topics 0:06 - Transition from software engineering to music creation 4:21 - Perspectives on AI in music and its creative impact 8:07 - Origin and meaning behind the name Jvst Breathe 10:32 - Musical family background and early instruments 14:09 - Life experiences sparking the pursuit of production 16:39 - Inspirations from nature, emotion, and festivals 19:27 - Tools of choice: Ableton Live, Serum, and Splice 20:45 - Overcoming creative blocks and learning through practice 24:35 - Key influences from Taiki Nulight to Eminem 29:27 - Supporting local artists, live shows, and future projects Connect with Jvst Breathe Instagram:https://instagram.com/jvstbreathemusicTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jvstbreathemusic   About  Jvst Breathe- Jvst Breathe is a technologist turned artist whose path to the booth runs through a lifetime of music and a deep respect for code. Long before club nights and late studio sessions, they spoke in melodies, cutting their teeth on classic instruments like trombone, trumpet, and violin. That early discipline trained an ear for tone, harmony, and dynamics, a foundation that does not just teach notes but patience, listening, and intention. Hours of scales, ensemble rehearsals, and tiny breakthroughs built a quiet confidence that would later resurface on stage and in the studio. In high school and college, practical choices edged out creative ones, and Jvst Breathe stepped away from music to pursue computer science. The problem solving rush and elegance of a well written function became a new canvas. Debuggers replaced practice rooms; compilers replaced metronomes. Yet the logic of music never let go. Pattern, repetition, and variation still mapped neatly onto how they thought. The spark reignited in 2022, when they realized that modern music production is not far from programming at all. It is systems thinking with sound, architecture expressed as arrangement, and algorithms disguised as grooves. Once that connection clicked, tools that used to feel opaque suddenly became expressive. Early 2023 brought a new obsession, DJing. What began as curiosity quickly became a craft, then a calling. Mixing gave structure to the producer’s imagination and an instant feedback loop with the people in the room. Every blend taught a lesson in energy, pacing, and restraint, and every set sharpened instincts that software could only hint at. By October 2023, after months of relentless practice and tiny victories, Jvst Breathe played a first show in San Francisco. That milestone transformed private study into public promise, and friends into early supporters willing to stay until the lights came up. It also confirmed a simple truth: connection arrives when preparation meets presence, and the room always rewards honesty over perfection, every single time. Six months later, that promise demanded a leap. Jvst Breathe moved to Los Angeles to pursue music in earnest, stepping into a city where dreams feel close and rent feels closer. They arrived with little more than a laptop, a hard drive, and stubborn belief, taking on ninety hour weeks as an independent contractor to keep the lights on while chasing a sound of their own. Mornings belonged to code, nights to clubs, and weekends to workflow experiments, crate digging, and set prep. The grind was brutal and clarifying. It tested resolve, sharpened workflows, and proved that momentum lives in daily discipline before it ever shows up as a breakthrough. Today, Jvst Breathe works as a software engineer at a social media marketing company, translating day job tools directly into the artist’s toolkit. Content is not an afterthought; it is part of the instrument rack. They approach branding like a product roadmap, storytelling like a sprint, and audience building like user research. Short form edits, posting cadence, analytics, and automation all feed the creative engine, helping the music find ears without losing its heart. The aim is to bridge product thinking with artistic intuition so releases and performances feel intentional, iterative, and alive. The sound emerging from this hybrid life carries the fingerprints of both disciplines. You can hear the brass section schooling in the way basslines breathe and lead converse. You can feel the coder’s patience in the architecture of builds and releases. Sets move with logic but never feel predictable, coursing through house and adjacent club textures with an emphasis on groove, momentum, and emotional release. In the studio, Jvst Breathe favors tactile experimentation, resampling, modulation, and iterative versioning that treats each session like a small product ship. The result is music that aims for clarity and lift, built to move a floor and linger afterward. Community matters, too. The Bay Area debut created a circle of friends who still trade stems and ideas, while Los Angeles provides a high pressure, high inspiration environment that keeps the bar rising. Each room teaches something new, how to open gently, how to reset a dance floor, how to end with gratitude. Those lessons flow back into production and back out into sets, where narrative, tension, and relief become the language of connection. The name is a reminder to slow down, breathe, and serve the moment instead of the ego. Looking ahead, Jvst Breathe is building deliberately, song by song, set by set, and system by system, knowing that longevity comes from process as much as from inspiration. The mission is simple and ambitious at once, to make records that feel inevitable and performances that feel personal, rooted in craft and delivered with care. Nothing is rushed; everything is iterated, tested with people, and refined until the intention is clear and the feeling is undeniable. Follow along as the story accelerates. For studio snippets, show announcements, and works in progress, find Jvst Breathe at @jvstbreathemusic on Instagram and TikTok, where the content brain meets the crate digging heart. Step into a world where signal flow meets feeling, where code becomes cadence, and where every night is an invitation to just breathe.  Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/jvstbreathemusic  TikTok:https://www.tiktok.com/@jvstbreathemusic About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. • Finding Creativity Through Structure with Textbook Maneuver on the Virtual Sessions 9/18/25
Michael, better known as Textbook Maneuver, joins for an insightful conversation that explores how science, structure, and creativity intertwine in his musical journey. Growing up with a love for music but rooted in a professional career as a chemist, Michael shares how his analytical background influenced his approach to learning and producing. His artist name reflects this very methodical nature - diving into textbooks, experimenting, and developing a disciplined foundation before evolving into his current cinematic electronic sound. He discusses his early piano lessons and the pivotal role of receiving a piano as a gift, which shaped his lifelong connection to music. Michael reflects on balancing influences from classical composers like Satie and Ravel with the raw energy of metal, punk, and progressive rock, which all feed into his eclectic style today. His EP Strike Joy and full-length album Adrenaline Slip mark milestones that not only capture his evolving sound but also symbolize his mission to create music that inspires positivity and introspection. Throughout the interview, Michael highlights the challenges of standing out in a saturated digital landscape and the importance of trademarking and branding as an artist. He also shares his fascination with building unique sonic textures through software, synthesizers, and improvisation while acknowledging the perfectionist tendencies that sometimes slow creative flow. His vision for Life Science Records reflects his DIY ethic and a long-term goal to nurture other artists. Michael’s story is one of curiosity, persistence, and innovation - blending scientific discipline with artistic exploration to forge a unique identity in electronic music. Topics 0:06 - Origins of the Textbook Maneuver name and scientific background 5:35 - Describing music style in three words and cinematic influences 8:21 - Creating Strike Joy EP and discovering his sound 13:30 - Inspiration and naming of Adrenaline Slip album 19:07 - Early musical background and family piano story 23:37 - Lessons on discipline, perfectionism, and songwriting methods 28:12 - Transition from analog piano to software-based production 33:28 - Reflections on production complexity and influences from pop teardown 38:44 - Key electronic inspirations from Gary Newman to Boards of Canada 49:03 - Hobbies, daily life, and vision for Life Science Records Connect with Textbook Maneuver Bandcamp: https://lifesciencerecords1.bandcamp.com/   About Textbook Maneuver - Emerging electronic project Textbook Maneuver has unveiled a mesmerizing track and video, ‘Nocturnal Musings’, released on his Life Science Records, LLC imprint. With nearly 130,000 streams across platforms to date, the project has steadily drawn the attention of the global IDM and experimental electronic community.  Interviews with Magnetic Magazine, Illustrate Magazine, features on WWAM (We Write About Music), Music For All (Brazil), and Good Music Radar have already highlighted the project’s immersive debut album Adrenaline Slip (2025). It is clear that Textbook Maneuver is emerging as one of experimental electronic music’s most intriguing new figures.  Michael Keane is the Bronx-born, New Jersey-based composer behind the Textbook Maneuver alias. A classically trained pianist with a punk DIY heart, Keane blends cerebral sound design with cinematic storytelling, drawing from a wide palette of influences that stretch from Genesis (Duke era), Rush, and Gary Numan to The Postal Service, U.N.K.L.E., and Phantogram. Under the Textbook Maneuver moniker, his releases balance the intellectual curiosity of IDM with the emotional resonance of ambient and prog-influenced electronica, offering soundscapes fit for film, television, and interactive media.  His music thrives on improvisation and sonic experimentation, refusing easy classification while remaining deeply accessible. With critics comparing his sound to Jon Hopkins and Nils Frahm, listeners are sure to hear echoes of Boards of Canada, μ-Ziq, and Squarepusher. ‘Nocturnal Musings’ is an off-kilter glitched-out dreamscape, unfolding with restless beats that shape-shift beneath jagged synth stabs, blinking beeps, and spectral textures, evoking the drift of a mind caught between realities. The accompanying video, all caught on a trail camera set up outside the artist’s studio, shows eerie black and white footage of animals meandering in the snow in the dead of night. Textbook Maneuver shared:  “I spent much of my time composing for the Strike Joy EP in a fully screened porch at night, during the height of cricket and frog activity, focusing on loops and sound design. Elements of the rhythms and tones from nature helped inspire ‘Nocturnal Musings’. The video for the song is from footage I captured on the trail camera set up outside the studio, sticking with the night hours synced up with the song. It was a fun creative experience." “A spaced-out odyssey of an album, leaning heavily into the ambient & leftfield side of electronic music.” Magnetic Magazine “Textbook Maneuver creates music that takes listeners on an atmospheric journey.” Illustrate Magazine “No words required here. It’s all emotive sound, frequencies, and there’s plenty of it to entertain, energize, and even hypnotize.” Good Music Radar Bandcamp: https://calendly.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Ftextbookmaneuver.bandcamp.com&user_uuid=4c2b2c86-3956-4a9d-977c-78e986d23990&stage=1&hmac=eae4cc73c18d08e45025ca0e7fe48d8b655c93fdcc7a7b87be83749e49ff8ff2TikTok https://calendly.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tiktok.com%2F%40lifesciencerecords&user_uuid=4c2b2c86-3956-4a9d-977c-78e986d23990&stage=1&hmac=c96b8f392718b3a25c2c85a4bcd6f240ce183846d8e6aa6d2273045c18cf3346 Label: Life Science Records https://calendly.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Flifesciencerecords1.bandcamp.com%2F&user_uuid=4c2b2c86-3956-4a9d-977c-78e986d23990&stage=1&hmac=412eb482681f1840ed107a57e25ff94ef28afcf9c01b5b7a658efb21d133ca2dSpotify https://calendly.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fopen.spotify.com%2Fartist%2F5f9O1kS96ShpCQiXqoWLDS&user_uuid=4c2b2c86-3956-4a9d-977c-78e986d23990&stage=1&hmac=e6438764f6e91bfe87dee2e22aa83a9399a7520db63eebf2a3ceec2b5d52abf5 ITunesApple  https://calendly.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fmusic.apple.com%2Fartist%2F1787480924&user_uuid=4c2b2c86-3956-4a9d-977c-78e986d23990&stage=1&hmac=f6cbae667318a8f2bd2c8ec725a73498f35fcbf2ed84aabcabeaa7ad3f962b80     About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. • Erika Grapes - Healing Through Music, Covers, and Creative Resilience on the Virtual Sessions 9/16/25
Summary In this Virtual Sessions episode, Milan-based singer and songwriter Erika Grapes opens up about her artistic journey, the meaning behind her stage name, and the evolution of her music. She explains how “Grapes” began as a playful nickname on music forums and eventually became her professional identity, representing the colorful and eclectic nature of her artistry. Her latest single, a cover of Love is a Bitch by Two Feet, reflects both personal heartbreak and artistic transformation. Originally drawn to its sensual and bluesy vibe, Erika reimagined the track with an industrial edge inspired by Nine Inch Nails, blending cabaret-style rhythms with electronic textures. She recalls how recording the vocals became a cathartic release, channeling raw emotion into a bold new interpretation. The conversation turns deeply personal as Erika shares the trauma that once drove her away from live performance and the healing process that helped her return to the stage. Collaborating with producer Eugene gave her the confidence to perform again, and she highlights the role of therapy, poetry, and self-expression in overcoming fear. Her lyric visualizer for Love is a Bitch emerged from improvised photography in an abandoned mill, showing her resourcefulness and creative vision. Looking ahead, Erika teases upcoming projects including a dream pop original with producer Veronica Hall and a cover of Choking Outlines by Ren. She emphasizes the importance of authenticity, embracing eclecticism across genres, and letting inspiration arrive naturally rather than forcing it. With influences ranging from Fiona Apple to Nick Cave, Erika continues to craft music that balances vulnerability, experimentation, and resilience. Born in Lovere, on Lake Iseo, and raised near Milan, she began her musical path performing in London with the band Bungalow Purple before moving into solo projects that explore a more cinematic and introspective sound. Her music often merges nostalgic textures with modern electronic elements, shaped by influences ranging from Billie Holiday and Nina Simone to The Cure, Fiona Apple, and Lana Del Rey. Known for her ethereal voice and atmospheric arrangements, she has released both original tracks and distinctive reinterpretations of cult songs, including Mazzy Star’s “Into Dust”, Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand”, and The Doors’ “People Are Strange.” In 2024, her single “Once Upon an Ordinary” — co-written with Felix Subway and produced by Lorenzo Montanà — passed the first round of consideration at the Grammy Awards in the Best Alternative Performance category. Later that year, she released “Take My Heaven,” a new wave-inspired collaboration with Vincenzo of Way To Blue. Her most recent project is a collaboration with electronic music artist Eugene (Eugenio Valente) on the single “Love is a Bitch” (2025), a reinterpretation of the Two Feet track accompanied by a lyric visualizer. The project highlights her continued interest in cross-genre collaborations and her exploration of darker, emotionally charged themes. Active on platforms such as Bandcamp, Spotify, and Instagram, Erika describes her sound as “Indie Chill Dark Dream Pop with dashes of Fierce and Fatale.” Her work reflects recurring themes of vulnerability, resilience, and transformation, situating her among the emerging voices of the European indie and alternative scene.
