Darren and Steve review, discuss, debate, and dissect the new Alex Van Halen memoir, Brothers. The good, the bad, the surprising and much more!
Speaking of books, be sure to check out Darren's dive into all-things David Lee Roth -- you know, Alex's favorite VH singer -- in DLR Book: How David Lee Roth Changed The World, available now.
History is made as the DLR Cast records and broadcasts an episode LIVE, for the first time! Darren and Steve get into the big news from the big interviews Alex Van Halen has done in support of his forthcoming (tomorrow!) new book, Brothers, in Rolling Stone and The New York Times. News about the Eddie Van Halen tribute that never was - Dave and Alex were rehearsing (?!?) and how it blew up; Alex's passion for the original Van Halen, a myriad of sidebars, and the former VH singer whose name won't be spoken. Plus, some new DLR vids and the "Van Halen Lead Singer Roll Call" - of everyone (we think) who sang with VH, was asked to sing with VH, said they were asked to sing with VH, wanted to sing with VH, and can't remember if they sang with VH! Plus, some awesome listener comments from our awesome listeners!
First up: Steve and Darren have a mea culpa on Ink the Original -- it does exist (sort of?). Then, a dizzying array of Dave Lee Roth's slogans, domain names, quotes and ideas.
Alex Van Halen's book is a month away -- will there be DLR dirt or not
Plus, Joe Satriani, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Steve opines on the quality of A Little Ain't Enough and The DLR Band vs. the first two albums and Darren's got a theory (and it's pretty compelling!).
Hey! Be sure to get all of Darren's interviews, happenings and much more on The Paltrocast!
Darren and Steve return from their summer break and take a really deep dive into an interview Darren had with a person who did marketing for Ink The Original -- David Lee Roth's tattoo skin care company. There's some fascinating and funny information here about the early attempts at creating a marketing and publicity plan for a company that perhaps only really existed on paper. And in Dave's mind?
Plus, is Dave on vacation the rest of the year? Some various and cool You Tube happenings (thank you Ramses and The Mojo Dojo!), Darren's interview with Billy Sheehan, and much more.
Find more of what Darren's up to via the Paltrocast, which airs regularly via 150+ television stations and broadcasters (and counting), in addition to your favorite podcast providers!
Steve and Darren welcome actor Chris Stack. Chris has appeared in movies and TV including School Of Rock, Third Watch, and is on Broadway now in the acclaimed, very cool and rocking play Stereophonic. Chris is also a big Van Halen fan who has never got caught up in social media or the VH/David Lee Roth/Sammy Hagar dramas, just got caught up in the music!
At the top, Steve and Darren dive into new, recent, and weird Dave videos, a must-hear music video from The Mojo Dojo, Dave's cover of the classic "Baker Street," props to Sammy Hagar and 3/4 of Chickenfoot, Steve's fantasy Las Vegas residency and Darren really wants to know where Vic Johnson is!
Check out Chris Stack in the amazing musical Stereophonic, which the Chicago Tribune calls "already a must-see American classic." For more details and ticket information visit StereophonicPlay.com

Wow! Darren and Steven reach the proverbial holy grail for podcasters, 100 episodes! They wax enthusiastically about making it this far and then welcome two drummers who have played with Dave, nearly 30 years apart, Ron Wikso and Francis Valentino.
Ron was in the touring band for the 1994-1995 Your Filthy Little Mouth tour, and Francis was part of Dave's initial dates on KISS' End Of Rhe Road Tour, very nearly played Las Vegas for the cancelled farewell concerts and can be heard on the Van Halen re-records done in 2022. Both have great stories, dispel some rumors and have answers to a few mysteries.
You can find Ron at RonWikso.com and Francis on Instagram @francisvalentino
THANK YOU for enjoying The DLR Cast so far!
Darren and Steve dig into the latest David Lee Roth videos that have been popping up - is this just Dave's "counter-programming?" Plus, why Dave should have been a pop culture/rock icon gues in John Mulaney's Netflix 6-episode live show, Everybody's In L.A. - or could he have been? Plus, are there any left-over tracks from some of Dave's solo albums, Steve digs the :50 worth of an awesome Steely Dan cover in the new Mojo Dojo video, the Alex Van Halen auction, the new expanded edition of Van Halen's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" coming in July, and maybe Dave just does what he does just...because.

"If one thing is incorrect, what else is incorrect?" So it goes, as Darren and Steve debate and discuss Dave Lee Roth's recent, back-to-back "Roth Show" episodes, "Stalker" and "Who Called The Ambulance." Who the hell is Dell/Del, a descent into a deep state with myster gardeners and plumbers, part of the Civilian Surveillance Corps. Plus various inconsistencies, mystery music, "Scotch & Sofa" and Toshi!
Darren and Steve discuss, dismantle, and debate the latest in David Lee Roth and DLR-adjacent news. Steve has a dream, Darren has some thought and ideas on royalties and there's the big story from Louder about Van Halen at Castle Donnington in 1984. And some thoughts on Alex Van Halen's book and a new book on VH, Van Halen At 50, by Martin Popoff, coming in May. Plus, a dip into the mailbag reading listener comments!
