    The murder of Grammy nominated rapper and entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle has shaken the streets of South L.A. It is in these moments that we witness a different kind of unity. Similar to disengaged families that come together for the funeral of its patriarch. Nipsey was beloved by many but clearly that admiration didn't fall upon all. His murder is proof that no matter what level of success you obtain, for some you are still your past.   • The Hypocrisy is Real: Masculinity in the Black Community.
    Masculinity (also called manhood or manliness) is a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles associated with boys and men. As a social construct, it is distinct from the definition of the male biological sex. Standards of manliness or masculinity vary across different cultures and historical periods. Both males and females can exhibit masculine traits and behavior.
    Billy Porter broke the internet by wearing a tuxedo gown to the 2019 Oscar Awards. The avänt'gärd  look was hailed phenomenal by many but chastised by those who felt the ensemble further put black men in an emasculated light. Further, there were arguments claiming his appearance -and those who supported it- added to the reasons why the black community cannot move further ahead. 
    The argument about masculinity and what is accepted can last for days; but DNA the Voice and myself will try to tackle the subject in 90 minutes. Wish us luck.
