He decided to turn the offer down to play at the University of Louisville. There, he played for 3 years before being redrafted in 2013 by the Cleveland Indians. He played minor league baseball until 2018 before medically retiring. While waiting to hear back from PA schools, he got into a part-time laborer role with a general contractor.
