  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Jake Brown
    Jake Brown:
A Nashville resident for the majority of my book writing career, I’ve covered every genre within the music industry and has been published in 9 countries around the world. I’d be HONORED if you would consider me for an appearance on your Podcast/Show, where I could cover everything topic-wise from career advice/writing tips to young, aspiring writers or entertaining stories about some of my bigger artist/band collaborations over the past 20 years, or any other area of the book writing or publishing arena.
My catalog features highlights across the stylistic spectrum, including Hip Hop titles on Suge Knight, Tupac Shakur, Rick Rubin, Dr. Dre, Biggie Smalls, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Jay Z and more, I co-starred in the 2018 6-part B.E.T. “Death Row Chronicles” docu-series as biographer of record and will soon complete work with legendary R&B star and producer Teddy Riley on his memoirs, including a foreword by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and interviews with genre legends like Bobby Brown, Keith Sweat, Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, Doug E Fresh and more.
I was fortunate enough to be able to bring fans into the studio quite literally for the first time with legendary Rock and Metal icons such as Heart and Mӧtorhead, having co-written books with Ann and Nancy Wilson and the late Lemmy Kilmister. Along with books on cult favorites AC/DC and Iron Maiden, I worked with Billy Corgan on an extensive Smashing Pumpkins studio retrospective for Tape Op and co-authored the 2014 best-selling book “Strange Beautiful Music” alongside living guitar legend Joe Satriani. Finally, my Beyond the Beats: Rock & Roll’s Greatest Drummers Speak book featured the drummers of Metallica, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Jane’s Addiction, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Journey, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Foo Fighters, Guns N Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, and more!
Back in my hometown of Nashville, I’ve worked with over 90 of Country Music’s biggest hit songwriters in the signature “Nashville Songwriter” book series, co-authored the Freddy Powers memoir “The Spree of ’83” – now in film development – featuring Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, Country rapper Big Smo’s memoir “My Life in a Jar: The Book of Smo,” and his latest release, the Country Producers-focused volume “Behind the Boards: Nashville.” Featuring 30 of the biggest producers in Nashville discussing their own personal back-stories and the studio stories behind the creation and recording of over 300 # 1 hits by Country’s biggest superstars like Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Lady A, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, Sam Hunt, Faith Hill, Thomas Rhett, The Dixie Chicks, Toby Keith, Merle Haggard, Brooks & Dunn, The Band Perry, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and many more!

  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Stephanie Czajkowski
    Stephanie Czajkowski:
Actress Stephanie Czajkowski (pronounced check-house-key) returns as the bald badass Hammerhead in Season 2 of DC’s superhero series DOOM PATROL, premiering June 25th on HBO Max and DC Universe.
The critically acclaimed first season introduced DOOM PATROL as a re-imagining of one of DC's most beloved group of disfigured and outcast superheroes, including Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) and the 64 personalities wrestling for control of her mind. The one packing a powerful punch is Hammerhead (Czajkowski), a born fighter with a bad attitude who comes into play again during Season 2 as Jane is challenged to grow beyond her past traumatic experiences.
Czajkowski is excited to return as the bald fan favorite again this season, “I never thought I’d be so excited to shave my head, but as soon as I found out HAMMERHEAD was returning, I had my clippers at the ready. The writers have done such a lovely job interweaving her this season, that it has been nothing short of an actor’s dream.”
Most recently, Czajkowski emerged on the big screen in 20th Century Studios film adaptation of author Jack London's 1903 adventure novel, The Call of the Wild, starring Harrison Ford. She also gained attention as Chrissy Metz’s supportive best friend Melissa in the heart aching drama, Breakthrough. On the small screen, Czajkowski’s notable credits include Bones, Shameless, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS: LA, Jane the Virgin, How to Get Away with Murder, Supergirl and more.
Earlier this year, Czajkowski turned in an inspired performance appearing in an episode of the original web series, I FRIGGIN LOVE YOU, which detailed the impact of cancer on love. The topic is something she knows all about having personally battled with not one but three types of unrelated cancer. Now in remission, this seemingly healthy fitness fanatic has juggled a thyroid removal, six chemo sessions, a double mastectomy and 25 sessions of radiation for she what she calls her “cancer trifecta”. In an effort to deal with her roller-coaster reality.
Originally from Wisconsin, Czajkowski earned a degree from the prestigious New York University Tisch School of The Arts and continued honing her craft at Playwright’s Horizon and Steppenwolf Theatre before moving to Los Angeles.
Czajkowski and her writer husband have chronicled her health journey on their humorous blog: http://ChemoSkinny.com

  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Bill Oberst Jr and Frederick Keeve
    Bill Oberst Jr

He’s in a new Coronavirus-inspired horror movie called GREATLAND (see trailer) – which is now in production

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMzicq-us0Y

Known for a Daytime Emmy Award-winning performance in "Take This Lollipop" and a ratings-winning role on CBS-TV's "Criminal Minds," Bill Oberst Jr. is an American actor of stage and screen whose real-life gentleness and interest in things spiritual are at odds with his often macabre screen persona. Ron Chaney, great-grandson of Lon Chaney, presented Oberst with the first Lon Chaney Award For Outstanding Achievement In Independent Horror Films in 2014.

Oberst's staged theatrical reading "Ray Bradbury's Pillar Of Fire" won an Ernest Kearney Platinum Award for its Los Angeles debut, and was named Best Solo Show Of Hollywood Fringe and Best LA Solo Show in the 2015 Best Of LA Theater Roundup at Bitter-Lemons.com. In 2017 "Ray Bradbury's Pillar Of Fire" won a United Solo Theatre Festival Award for its Off-Broadway debut on Theatre Row in New York City.

The premiere of the horror-themed episode of CBS-TV's "Criminal Minds" which introduced Oberst's deformed killer character (also guest-starring Adrienne Barbeau and Tobin Bell) was the evening's most-watched TV program. CBS.com included Oberst's character in their list of "Criminal Minds' 14 Most Notorious Serial Killers." The character remains one of only a handful of uncaptured "Criminal Minds" killers.

He is perhaps most widely-known internationally as the face of director Jason Zada's "Take This Lollipop," awarded a Daytime Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the category of New Approaches-Daytime Entertainment. Oberst has been seen by over 100 million viewers worldwide as an online stalker in the interactive application for Facebook users.
    Frederick Keeve:

Frederick, who also appeared recently on HBO’s “Westworld”, and has appeared in such films as “Gone Girl” and “Land of the Lost”, is also an accomplished music composer. In addition, Keeve has produced not only films, but special events. He wrote and organized "An Evening with George Shdanoff," at the world-famous Argyle Hotel in West Hollywood, celebrating Mr. Shdanoff's 90th birthday with world class ballet dancers, a concert pianist, and over 100 celebrity guests flown in from around the world. Keeve hired two-time Emmy winner Sharon Gless, screen legend Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and screen icon Oscar-winner Patricia Neal to co-host the prestigious event.
Acclaimed gay love story and musical THE ACCOMPANIST premieres On Demand June 2
A talented pianist, haunted by his past, searches for redemption when he meets a beautiful dancer at the ballet studio where he plays. When the dancer’s boyfriend sees the attraction between the two men, he wages war to win his lover back.
The Accompanist will be available on digital June 2 from Dark Star Pictures.

    Peter Abrams:

Peter Abrams, is a 20 year old award-winning comedian and musician, author, speaker and entrepreneur who found his lucky break by working and becoming the mentee of Russell Brand.
In just two years; he has been fortunate enough to perform at a wide range of events including notable stages such as TED, Mind Body Spirit London, The National Science Museum, Glastonbury and Madison Square Garden to name a few. He has published one book titled Our Story Called Life, which looked at the meaning of life by comparing numerous cultures' belief systems, quite a unique concept for a book written by a then eighteen year old.

The book sold fantastically for a first-time author and allowed to speak at prestigious events including a TED-talk this November and The National Science Museum.

This journey led him to comedy and subsequently music, which for the last two years he has performed extensively in the United Kingdom and recently internationally on my 'Life is a Joke' tour which spanned 12 countries including the United States, China and Australia. He has been
fortunate and successful and has performed at venues including The Comedy Store, The Boiler-room, Glastonbury and Latitude Festival.

    Ray Powers:

Three-time Billboard Songwriting Award winner, Ray Powers, is a second-generation vocalist/performer. His father, Ray Sr. was a prominent bass vocalist in the Brooklyn a cappella Doo-Wop groups, The Deacons and The Montclairs.

Blessed with perfect pitch, following in his father's footsteps was imminent. Ray Powers has played piano since age 6, having taken 4 years of Classical lessons - and typically composes songs on piano before doing so on guitar or bass - the other instruments he proficiently plays. Powers embarked on his first US tour at age 15, spending the entire summer traveling the country with the Christian band, Bliss.

After spending the next decade playing bass in hard rock bands on the NY club circuit, Ray accepted an internship on the new indie startup label, Mad Hands Records. Within two years, Powers had earned his first opportunity to sit in the producer's chair. His first pitch was the song he sung and co-wrote: 'We Were Meant To Be', which was sent to Warner Reprise Records in Burbank, CA for Chris Isaak. Ray's reputation as a bassist merited him the chance to tour with rock and roll and R&B legends such as Charlie Thomas' Drifters, Tavares, Ben E. King, The Chiffons, Lou Christie, Danny and the Juniors, The Skyliners, The Capris, 'Diamond' Dave Somerville and many others.

In 2011, Powers stepped forward as a solo artist for the first time, recording 'We All Stand Tall' to mark the tenth anniversary of 9/11/01, and the song was featured in various poignant events in lower Manhattan, is featured in the 9/11 Museum and was tied for the most requested song on the morning of 9/11/11 with Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless The USA' on WCBS 101.1 FM.

A Walk Down Abbey Road also contains interviews with the four Beatles.
What sets this book apart from all others is the wide variety of exclusive interviews.
A Walk Down Abbey Road contains personal recollections and memories from major music personalities as told directly to the author. It is not designed to go head-to-head with any of the Beatles biographies or critiques, but to provide a multifaceted set of viewpoints. Over the years the author has worked with the individual members as well as Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon and Julian Lennon. His Beatles experience is firsthand. The material is augmented with brief set ups and photos to compliment the interviews.

Micky Dolenz, the drummer and lead vocalist with the rock band, The Monkees, has written the forward.

    Brady Novotny:

Brady Novotny started playing the guitar at the age of 10. Determined to be a world class guitarist, he left his first guitar lesson with his instructor telling him basically to give it up now. Thus he was introduced to criticism and disappointment early in his endeavor. Nevertheless, Brady heard a guitar player that would motivate him to push all that aside and re-energrize his passion to continue; that guitar player was Randy Rhoads. Brady soon fell in love with classical and melodic guitar playing. Brady practiced restlessly learning everything from classical pieces, melodic and virtuosic solos from 80's guitar heroes, to jazz fusion. Brady set out to do an instrumental project that would have his listeners singing the haunting melodies while holding their attention by uniquely placed guitar virtuosity and dynamic rhythms creating a fusion of rock, flamenco, and jazz. His love for a variety of musical styles led him to study under many teachers in his life. Brady started out playing Classical guitar at the age of 10. Ever since then, Brady has had a strong affection for nylon string guitar sound. Ultimately, this led him to study Flamenco guitar. He immediately fell in love with the passion, virtuosity and rhythm of this style. The shred of the 80’s was one of his main influences and guilty pleasures, while Jazz was a big influence on Brady’s chordal choices and song color.
