A podcast where we — your hosts, Claudia and Natalie — discuss & dissect the tropes, trends, and most importantly, LORE in our favorite fantasy books and series.
We both dove back into reading for fun in 2022, and quickly realized that one of the best parts of reading is getting to gush about books with your friends who’ve read them too! After multiple emotional support FaceTimes and voice memos sent to a plethora of our book besties (one of which led to a 5 page agenda/notes doc for a 1.5 hour debrief that low key inspired this whole podcasting idea), we decided to just…keep doing what we’re doing but record and share the fun with all of you!
The Down-Lore is a podcast where we chit chat about all of our fantasy reads (think: classic faves, booktok darlings, new releases in 2024, etc). We’re here to gush over fictional men, pick apart tropes we love (or not lol), and go bat shit crazy with crack theories for our fave series while we sit on these cliffhangers that drive us absolutely insane (looking at you Iron Flame and Crescent City). Really, we just want to take you along for the ride with us.
Since every episode will be heavy on spoilers, we’ll post updates on what we’re currently reading and planning to podcast about in the upcoming weeks so you can read along if you want, or you can set your own reading schedule and come back to our published episodes when you’re done with the book or series!
On another, related note, we’re also aspiring authors! Claudia is writing a contemporary romance novel, and Natalie is working on a fantasy novel! Stay tuned for sneak peeks on our own original content and updates on WTF the world of literary agents and publishers is like (we legit don’t know, but we’re delusional and ready to find out)!
