"Sic transit gloria mundi" is a Latin phrase that means "Thus passes the glory of the world." The Bible says it best: "For, 'All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall.'"

It was just a few short years ago that Barack Obama sat high atop the pinnacle of celebrity; now, if monthly style and culture magazine GQ (Gentlemen's Quarterly) is any indication of where in the "passing glory" trajectory Obama is presently situated, Barack's flower of fame is in the process of dropping its petals and destined for a shelf somewhere, pressed between the pages of a dusty history book.

Let us assume, for the moment, that the arguments for redistribution are more persuasive than those against. Then how would redistribution be achieved? There seem to be only two avenues. The first is through the appropriation of wealth. This has been done several times in history. Henry VIII seized the wealth of the Catholic church in England and kept part for the treasury and redistributed part to his supporters. During the French revolution much of the wealth of the aristocracy was seized by local authorities or looted by the populace.

These guys are amazing. They chicken out on everything important and blame the GOP.

I drove in from North Carolina the other day and wanted to spend time relaxing, computer games, reading ect. Instead, I took care of business, and e paid the bills. That's what you should do: Take care of things that are necessary and are required, and get to the fun stuff later. Right? Isn't that the way you do it?Apparently not if you are President Obama and his merry band of Democrats. They had two years of complete Federal control, including a 60-seat, filibuster-proof Senate, to do whatever they wanted.

The United States finds itself at a crossroads, facing a stark reality it can no longer ignore or leave to future generations.  We are presently on an irreversible path toward inevitable failure and second-class status.  It all started forty-eight years ago, we now can see.  The distance America has traveled down this road over the past forty-eight years -- a comparatively short period within the historical life of a nation -- is astounding.

But then -- think about the U.S. soldiers who are risking their lives this very minute in the badlands  of Afghanistan.  What are they thinking?  What effect does Obama's endorsement of the Progs have on their morale?  Would you risk your life for people who hate your country and go out of their way to shout it in your face?

Calling America "lazy" last weekend was only the latest and broadest insult from President Obama. America has become accustomed to Obama's lashing out at entire groups of people.  What has been all too little appreciated is his seeming delight in bullying, if not demeaning, individuals face-to-face.  He is protected from angry responses not just by the Secret Service, but by the reverence his victims have for the office he holds.
