Almost all American voters think the country's economy is in bad shape, and few see benefits from the Obama administration's economic policies. In fact, slightly more voters think the policies have hurt rather than helped the economy -- and many others think they have made no difference either way.

A Fox News poll released Friday found that more than 9 in 10 voters give the economy negative ratings: 40 percent rate economic conditions as "only fair" and another 51 percent say it is in "poor" shape.

States should be given more control over how to run health care programs rather than broaden the federal government's role in a system that's already rife with problems, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday.

"Maybe we would be better off having 50 parallel experiments," Gingrich told reporters at the Center for Health Transformation, which was unveiling its latest review on the impact of the federal health care law.

The law grants the federal government 1,968 new and expanded powers -- most of which would fall under the purview of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius -- and 159 new federal offices, according to the center founded by Gingrich.

After leading the nation last year in passing a law to sue the federal government over the health care overhaul, Idaho's Republican-dominated Legislature now plans to use an obscure 18th century doctrine to declare President Barack Obama's signature bill null and void.

Last Days Deception or Biblical Truth?

China's rapid growth is often painted as a threat to American interests. But President Obama said today that the country's economic progress benefits the United States and opens the door to greater international stability and humanitarian progress.

"We welcome China's rise," Mr. Obama said at a press conference at the White House with Chinese President Hu Jintao. "I absolutely believe that China's peaceful rise is good for the world, and it's good for America."

Is Obama planning a Gestapo-like "civilian national security force"?

After a heated midterm election, the Republican-led House easily passed legislation to repeal the nation's sweeping health care law.

The vote was 245-189. There were four Democrats that voted for repeal.

Overturning the law was a major campaign plank for Republicans in the 2010 elections, and many of the House's nearly 100 new lawmakers promised to repeal the law that was pushed by President Obama and congressional Democrats.

After the monstrous shooting in Arizona last week, surely we can all agree that we've got to pass Obama's agenda immediately and stop using metaphors.

Totalitarian thugs love China. They love its authoritarian government and absolute political power. One such thug is the climatologist James Hansen of NASA. Hansen thinks America needs to adapt Chinese authoritarianism in order to force climate change down the throats of the American people.

Today, another six states joined the legal battle to overturn the federal Obamacare mandate — pushing the total number to 26*. (*Heritage says 27.)

Today we celebrate the work of Martin Luther King. This is the 20th federal King holiday. Most of the population is too young to remember Dr. King in life, but there are few Americans who do not know his name and heroic stature in the civil right movement. Over the years, I think, the holiday has come to be more about the movement, and less about the man. Which is as it should be. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was the necessary man in the civil rights movement, keeping the heart of it non-violent and focused on the prize. But it was the movement that was sacred, not the man.
