In this talk, I want to inspire and encourage those who are keen to step up as leaders. I'll share my key beliefs - about leadership, learning, and creating value - and how these can help shape you into an effective leader. Leadership is more than just resources or a title, it's about influence and strategic action. But before jumping into a leadership role, it's crucial to know when and how to lead. You need discernment, an ability to judge well, to make this decision. Being a leader also means being a lifelong learner. It's about soaking up lessons, putting them to use, and sharing them with others. And remember, leadership isn't about self-gain - it's about developing yourself so you can contribute to others. Mistakes and failures? They're not setbacks, they're steps forward. They're essential for growth and for becoming a better leader. The idea of value creation is also key. I want to applaud all of you - you're excellent students who can create value wherever you go. I encourage you to add value to other people's lives, through your wisdom and personal growth. Don't wait for opportunities - go out and find them, in areas that interest you. In my personal journey, being around such driven individuals has made me a better husband, father, and leader. So, remember, as you step forward in your leadership journey, keep leading with passion, keep learning, and keep creating value.
