For the first two years of my managing career I had a revolving door of employees because they didn’t respect the way I was handling the staff. My solution was twofold. I got some great advice from my boss on the value of training and how it lowers employee turnover. But the real breakthrough came when I started to do the tasks that I was asking my employees to do. Namely WASH dishes! What! Wash dishes! Yes.

Often times, we confuse leadership with dictatorship. A dictator barks out orders and does not take into account the wants and needs of others. A servant leader is the complete opposite. A servant leader works tirelessly to develop his or her people and is focused on what they, as the leader, can do for others. Being a servant leader in the business world means: Develops Your Employees AND The Next Generation of Leaders

– Leadership defined is all over the board. Probably because there are so many variables that define what good or bad leadership is. Because of this I want to give you one clear, detailed definition. This definition come from businessdictionary.com

establishing a clear vision,

sharing that vision with others so that they will follow willingly,

leadership provides the information, knowledge and methods to realize that vision, and

coordinates and balances the conflicting interests of all members and stakeholders.

A leader steps up in times of crisis, and is able to think and act creatively in difficult situations.

Failure is not an option is my new mantra. That phrase is how I live in helping me reach my dream. In everything I have accomplished with Droztalks.com to date, behind the scenes, and some right out for everybody to see, there have been failures. Small failures that have helped me make the necessary adjustments so that the big goal (Making Droztalks a success) continues down the road to success.

One of the best two hours I spent was at a meeting of the NSA back a few months ago when the gentleman speaker, who was a Dr. of psychology spoke on the science of doing a public speaking presentation. It centered around how the brain reacts to different types of stimuli… and then build a dynamic presentation knowing those key stimulation points. Using that info, you know how to stimulate the brain and then provide great content for that stimulated brain. Sounds like I am geeking out on that, which I am but ohh is it effective.
