The Drum Shed Podcast

Episode 3 of Season 2 - Andy quizzes Matt on what gear he would choose if Meinl wasn't an option! It sounds like a horror story!! Matt raves about a cheap boundary mic. We have a little chat about Social Media pros and cons and for some reason ROMCOM Films pop up...??

Episode 2 of Season 2 is slightly laid back, where Matt & Andy talk about some new gear and we talk about the New Meinl Benny Greb Signature Quick Sand Ride and Hats along with Matt's new toy the Meinl 14x4 Caixa (Snare) from Meinl Percussion. Andy has been building a new practice kick pad and we talk about the idea of attending the Europe Drum Show..

Matt is using the sE Electronics Dynacaster Professional Dynamic Microphone that is on loan from sE Electronics to try out! Thank you to sE for that and it is a fantastic Microphone well worth checking out!

Matt popped into see Chris Johnson at Highwood Music and bumped into Gareth Healey from Highwood Drums this week and stumbled on some real gems in the shop!

Lots of nice Sonor kits and snare plus the DIXON CORNERSTONE Kit that was played by Greg Bissonette last year at his UK clinics and at the Drum Show.

It is sitting there waiting to find a new home so go check it out!

SEASON 2 - Episode 1 Kicking off the New Season in 2025, we interviewed

Samuel Holcombe, drummer for the band “AQUALINE” a 5 piece alternative band from Guildford, UK.

Samuel popped in to talk about life being a drummer in a young UK based gigging and recording band in their 20’s.

Recently Graduated from ACM Guildford, Samuel simply LOVES the drums and is having a blast right now!

Aqualine have played gigs in the UK and Europe and recently returned from recording new material in Vienna.

In 2024 they featured on the BBC Live Lounge and have a great future ahead of them! Certainly one to watch and support our new and upcoming home grown artists.

Samuel has already been employed as a Drum Teacher in Schools and works in the Drum Dept of a popular and well known Music store whilst he continues his drumming career.

Give him a follow and check him and the band out on Social Media :)

The Christmas Special - With Mel and Riza !

Season Finale (Part Two)

In this two part episode we have a little fun at our "Office Party" reflecting on Season 1 with our close friends / "Approved Contractor

Co-Hosts" Mel & Riza.

This was well over 2 hours so I cut it in half-ish and we talked about some new ideas coming up, and some potential guests.

We hear Riza's Radical Question, which gives us an idea to give him a regular slot.. as long as the newly appointed Director or Planning "Mel" signs it off that is.. :)

Hope you had a great Christmas and have a great New Year.

Thanks for listening

Hanging with Christin Neddens Part 2

We spent 2 hours chatting with Christin so I split this one up in to 2 parts but will release them both on the same day so you don't need to wait...

Christin was very kind to spend so long speaking to us about her Drumming Journey and we loved having her on the show.

Check out https://www.christinneddens.de/ and @christin.neddens on Instagram.

She has a new book on the say in 2025 and already plenty of educational material to purchase from her shop page, so go and check her out.

You may have seen her this year at the UK Drum Show, where she was part of Mike Johnston's team in his Education Room.

She is such an inspiring person and fabulous drummer!

Enjoy and thanks for listening.

Matt talks about the TAMA 50th Celebration event and his meet up with Zack Grooves recently in London.

Andy went out to see HIGH FADE play in HULL and we talk Christmas Presents..

1.5 hours of 2 old blokes waffling on, but it might help you sleep if you're struggling.. ;)
