This week's episode is with Josh Shea, a man who navigated the path of addiction and emerged with direction. Josh and I discuss porn addiction and highlight societal connotations that keep this issue hidden. As a recovery coach with a decade of sobriety, Josh brings expertise to the table, sharing his journey from his arrest to writing about his struggles.
We also examine societal dynamics related to porn addiction and the influence of social media on perceptions of nudity and sexuality for the upcoming generation. We analyze the Nofap movement, a platform for those addressing the addiction, and discuss strategies that aid in mitigating use. Josh offers a perspective on how boredom and pattern affect porn use, underscoring the importance of understanding triggers and situations leading to consumption.
In our conversation's conclusion, we address statistics related to porn addiction and the urgency of open discussions about it. Josh conveys his dedication to initiating dialogues with the aim of protecting future generations from developing similar addictive patterns. Reflecting on the influence his arrest and recovery journey exerted on his life, Josh describes how he guides others towards a better path. Join our discussion as we address a topic often kept silent due to shame and secrecy.

I had a great chat with Andrew Wilkinson, who is trying to change how we think about dating. He has a lot of experience with dating apps and loves learning how to make himself better. We talked about how dating apps can be parasitic and how they try to keep us hooked. Andrew wants to change how we use dating apps and encourages real-life activities with a funny anecdote about Salsa dancing. We discussed being a 'Nice Guy' and how lying can cause problems. We also talked about how being real and honest helps to make real friends.
I discussed something Andrew calls the 'darkest timeline you.' This idea makes us think about the worst future we could have. We can use this idea to help us make better choices and avoid bad ones. We also discussed how doing things with friends and using online platforms can help us make deeper friendships. Lastly, we talked about how tracking progress can help us get better and how coaches can help us. Get ready for a talk full of surprising dating tips and unique ideas about self-improvement.
