Hayao Miyazaki's newest film, THE BOY AND THE HERON, hits theatres in wide release this weekend. I was fortunate enough to see it in limited release, so here are my thoughts on it now! Is this a true contender for the animation Oscar? How does this compare to other Miyazaki works? Should you see it NOW?

On episode twenty-three of FRAMEWRECK (a show about so-bad-they're-good movies), channel creator Dylan Randazzo and bad movie expert Matt Chapmond talk about an utter catastrophe, or CATastrophe if you will, 2019's CATS, the stage to screen adaptation turned nightmare fuel. And we are so so lucky to be joined by Karly Perkins, who makes her debut appearance as a guest on this episode! Why does Rebel Wilson have unzippable fur? Does Matt have a crush on Rum Tum Tugger? Did Dylan get the memo about wearing cat ears? How horny is too horny when you're one of the cats in this movie? Find out all of this and more in our newest episode of Framewreck.

A prequel to the hit franchise THE HUNGER GAMES has hit theatres recently, and I'm here to give you my thoughts on it! Fair warning, I didn't read the book, but I hope I can add some insightful thoughts on one of the big blockbuster releases of the fall.

I've been working on this podcast for quite a bit, and since I'm on vacation, I figured this would be the perfect time to share my reviews for everything I saw at NYFF last month! The films included in this review roundup are: Todd Haynes' newest melodrama MAY DECEMBER, the Sofia Coppola film PRISCILLA, the new Michael Mann directed biopic FERRARI, Bradley Cooper's second directorial effort MAESTRO, Jonathan Glazer and A24's THE ZONE OF INTEREST, France's submission for best International Film at the Oscars THE TASTE OF THINGS, and a four-hour long documentary MENUS-PLAISIRS LES TROISGROS. I'm looking forward to seeing so many people's reactions to these films as they trickle out into limited and wide release (some already have at the time of releasing this video!). Let me know which films you're most excited for.
