Dispute a good performance in a feisty first half, Roy Hodgson’s side fell behind after the break, following a Roberto Pereyra curler, as the Hornets were quick out of the traps. After months without football, Palace returned to action in the pre-season campaign. They travelled to Scandinavia to play FC Helsingør and Halmstads. In this week’s podcast Alfonso Greenbrook looks over the game against arch-rivals Brighton, where Palace moved six points clear of the bottom three, with just four games to play. All the goals were scored in an incredible first 45 minutes. Wilfried Zaha grabbed the early lead for Palace, which was closely followed up by James Tomkins doubling the lead. Glenn Murray pulled one back for the Seagulls, but Zaha once again scored to get Palace back in control.
