Session 437: Deep Dives into Notime and Psychic Painting
Kick back, relax, and grab something cold to drink. We’re diving into the cosmic archives with Session 437 from The Early Sessions, Book 9 of the Seth Material, recorded on the evening of September 18, 1968.
This session is a total vibe, featuring Jane Roberts (Ruburt) channeling Seth while their neighbors blared dance tunes downstairs. Despite the "underground noises," Seth dropped some heavy knowledge on the nature of reality and how to use your creative brain to peek into the future.
Life in the "Notime" Zone
Seth starts things off by reminding us that our 9-to-5 clock-watching is basically just a overlay on a much cooler reality called "notime."
- The Ground of Identity: You actually live in "notime" primarily. Our time system is just transposed over it like a filter.
- Direct Experience: In notime, you don’t need words. It’s the energy basement where all probabilities and creative accomplishments live.
- Dream Diving: Every time you dream, you’re taking a dip back into this primary existence.
- Quote: "You come out of notime into what you think of as time, and back to notime again. In notime experiences are far more direct... it is of course here that you have your primary existence and the ground of your identity."
Why Your Back is Acting Up (The Psychological "Ouch")
Jane was dealing with some nasty back pain, and Seth didn't hold back on the psychic diagnosis. It turns out, being "stiff" isn't just a physical thing—it’s an attitude.
- Rigidity vs. Flexibility: Jane was bracing for rejection over a book chapter. Seth noted she was holding her body like she was saying, "I can take it if they hate me."
- The Sapling Strategy: Seth suggested imagining the body (and creative work) as a young, beautiful sapling that moves easily with the breeze rather than a rigid pole that snaps.
- The Psychic Climate: If you live with someone, you’re sharing a psychic atmosphere. You can telepathically "boost" your partner’s inner climate with confidence to help them heal.
- Quote: "He adopts a rigid rather than flexible stance... his back is up, you see... he should imagine the entire book to be a young beautiful sapling that moves easily with each breeze."
The Psychic Artist’s Manual: Predicting the Future
Seth gave Joseph (Rob) a literal cheat code for developing his clairvoyant abilities using his skills as a painter. If you want to know what’s coming, Seth says to "paint" it in your head.
- The Blank Canvas Technique: Imagine a blank framed picture and let your subconscious fill in the details about a future event.
- The Road Symbol: Use perspective to judge time. A long road in your mental painting represents a long time before an event happens.
- The Jar Symbol: A filled jar means the event is close; an empty jar means it's further away.
- Color Coding Your Reality:
- Bright Reds, Yellows, or Electric Blues: Favorable and immediate news.
- Dull Grays or Blacks: Unfortunate news or obstacles.
- Mists: Probabilities haven't hardened yet, so the answer is still "buffering."
Lighten Up or Bust
The biggest takeaway? Don’t take your spiritual growth too seriously. Seth mentioned that even yoga should be done with a "lighter heart" rather than a "do-or-die" attitude. If it’s not fun, you’re doing it wrong.
