BIG IDEA:

God is a God of many chances. We on the other hand tend to give up on people and ourselves fairly early. We also tend to get angry at others good fortune because of jealousy or hatred. But God calls us to a greater love, His love. A love that cares for the well-being of all people and extends grace and forgiveness regardless of how we feel.

In life, we have all found ourselves in difficult and dark places. Sometimes we get in those places because of our own sin or the sin of others. And sometimes they are simply the results of living in a fallen and broken world. No matter how we arrived in our dark place, they way through the darkness and into the light is the same. Like Jonah, God sends big fish into our lives to help us remember. He sends (allows) big fish (uncomfortable situations) in order to remember that God loves us, sees us, is with us, and is active in our lives.
