July 30, 2021 The STEM Gap, Why It Exists And What We Can Do About it With FUTURE ME
In this podcast episode, we sit with Alexandra Pacuraru, Hayaat Nankya Kagimu, and Stuthi Hegde, who are team members of Future Me, a startup that aims to encourage students to chose STEM-related careers. In this episode, we discuss the STEM gap: Women make up only 28% of the workforce in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and men outnumber women majoring in most STEM fields in college.
We discuss the emergence of the STEM gap at the pre-school level and potential causes like disparities in gender attributions between STEM and non-STEM subjects. With an eye on Future Me's mission, we explore the significance of role models in the choice of career paths, highlighting the importance of being guided by someone with a similar background and experience.
Future Me was part of the edventure flagship accelerator and won the "best team award" for the exceptional team dynamic.

July 27, 2021 Global Equity Investor Natasha Braginsky Mounier On How To Succeed in a Rapidly Changing Financial Industry
In this podcast episode, we sit with Natasha Braginsky Mounier, independent director at Sberbank and senior fellow at FCLTGlobal. We discuss her early career following Harvard Business School, working as a financial analyst at The Blackstone Group and Corporate Finance Associate at JP Morgan. She elaborates on how the turbulent political climate affects investment outcomes for investors, particularly the changes following the election of Biden. We move on to discuss how climate stewardship and ESG oriented investing are gaining traction, and particularly, how societal pressure leads to such changes. Natasha also points out how role models can help women, in particular, succeed in the financial industry, recalling her experiences in a very male-dominated industry. Lastly, she outlines some tips on how listeners can invest and pick stocks from a young age, the framework she follows, and what to be aware of.
