Being a vital part of two big companies doesn't come easy, but Ken handles his roles with decisiveness and poise. The oil & gas industry may be perceived sometimes as having negative effects on America, but Ken strives to be one of the "good guys" and he proves this by injecting positive changes into the industry through the West Texas Energy Consortium and SEED.

This week on "In The Oil Patch": host Kym Bolado and her co-hosts Alvin Bailey and Roy Holley have Chaotic Moon Studios' Lead Solutions Engineer, Marc Boudria as their special guest. This is the first time we have had a software company on the show, and what better company to have with us than this one. Episode 18 of "In The Oil Patch"

This week on "In The Oil Patch": host Kym Bolado and her co-hosts Alvin Bailey and Roy Holley bring Noela Oliveira Garza into the studio. Noela is the President of Bullseye Land Surveying Company and she's one strong woman in a male dominant industry. Being a savvy entrepreneur did not happen overnight, and with the odds against her, Noela persevered and accomplished a lot where many would have faltered. The death of her husband affected not only her personal life, but it ignited her motivation to complete college (with two grown children in college themselves) in order to become a successful entrepreneur. This, in turn, solidified the fact that her family was going to be well taken care of despite the hardships they originally faced. This episode was extremely inspiring to us at Shale Magazine, and we hope the inspiration spreads to all of you: our amazing readers, listeners and fans.

Episode 17 of "In The Oil Patch"

This week on "In The Oil Patch": host Kym Bolado and her co-hosts Alvin Bailey and Roy Holley have Forbes writer and SHALE contributor, David Blackmon in the studio. David has been on "In The Oil Patch" before, and has been featured in multiple articles on our website and magazine. Being the distinguished individual he is, David expertly yet humbly answers a couple questions we received from oil field workers on our Facebook page recently. He goes into details about how the oil and gas market prices are affected by many different variables, and although we have an oil reserve in California, we would not need access to it unless there was a national crisis to be averted.

On our "Ask The Expert" segment this week, Kym and Roy ask pertinent questions about the oil and gas industry to our resident expert, Omar Garcia (STEER). The signing of House Bill 40/Senate Bill 1165 is the subject that Omar focuses on early in this segment and for good reason: this bill protects Texas regulatory rights in the oil and gas industry and preserves local authority. This bill will help keep communities thriving as well as safe since there will be more local regulatory policies and procedures in place. The reason fleet management is an important subject to cover is because businesses in the oil & gas industry need a means to transport equipment, resources, workers and literally tons of things that normal automobiles would not have the capacity to handle in day-to-day operations. Jay takes us through the myriad reasons which make Ford and Ford Credit the standard in today's business fleets.

On our "Ask The Expert" segment this week, Alvin Bailey (Kahlig Auto Group) asks pertinent questions about the oil and gas industry to our resident expert, Omar Garcia (STEER). Haley explains what STEER does, as well as gives our listeners insight into her role within the organization. With grace and finesse, Haley gives us a rundown of what is happening in the oil and gas industry and why regulation benefits everyone.

Episode 14 of "In The Oil Patch"

This week on "In The Oil Patch": host Kym Bolado and her co-hosts Alvin Bailey and Roy Holley have a very influential and important guest in the studio - none other than Commissioner David Porter. Porter has been in the oil and gas industry for years and came from a very humble beginning as a CPA services provider for oil and gas companies in Midland, Texas. In this interview, Porter gives his opinion on House Bill 40 (HB40) and how he believes it served to clarify existing law for everyone in the state of Texas. He goes on to explain his thoughts on a sensible, balanced energy plan including his stance that we should lift the ban on exports of U.S. crude oil. Porter never fails to impress us with his logic and intellect when it comes to regulating the oil and gas industry.

Another special guest from the South Texas Energy & Economic Roundtable (STEER) joins us today. Haley Curry, the Vice President of External Affairs of STEER talks to us and Commissioner Porter about how her organization helps with the regulation of the oil and gas industry. She explains the impact of being the conduit of communication between the industry and the surrounding communities. This is important because without STEER, people in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford Shale play may not realize how focused the industry is on safety and improving the conditions for workers and communities.

Following "Ask The Expert", Kym and Roy bring Dr. Kevin Behr onto the show. Dr. Behr is a professor at Coastal Bend College and has a storied career working with scholars studying exploration and drilling, process technology and refinery work in the oil and gas industry. He talks about his mobile classrooms that were granted to him which are dedicated to teaching his students about the very subjects he knows best. This in turn educates the community as well as our future oil and gas CEOs.
