Welcome to episode 61 of The Enthusiast Lab,

In this candid episode, we pull back the curtain on our journey of running Mr Enthusiast, openly admitting how often we've found ourselves "winging it" throughout our nine-year business journey. Now, we're actively seeking ways to stop improvising and add intentional structure to our operations.

We share our struggles with managing the numerous moving parts involved in growing the business, deciding on future goals, and determining the sequence of actionable steps. We also discuss the realities of the significant time investment required to run and grow a business effectively, especially when lacking formal business experience.

We'd love your thoughts and engagement on this episode! Share your opinions, advice, and let us know what business challenges you'd like us to discuss next.

Tune in for an honest look at the genuine hurdles of transitioning from "winging it" to running a structured, intentional business.

That's it for today's episode!

We hope you found this topic helpful and helps you make a more educated decision on when you start looking into building.

Welcome to episode 60 of The Enthusiast Lab,

In this special follow-up episode, we welcome my younger brother David onto the podcast to share his personal experiences of building a home while navigating life as a solo FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) worker. With David now nearing the end of the admin stage and ready to start construction, we dive deeply into the emotional and mental challenges he's faced on this journey.

David candidly discusses the unique struggles of FIFO life, including maintaining relationships with friends and family amidst his demanding work schedule. He opens up about the emotional rollercoaster of diligently saving for a home deposit, only to face the moment of hesitation when it's time to part with his hard-earned savings.

We also touch on the challenge of delayed gratification in a world accustomed to instant rewards, highlighting the emotional complexities clients like David face while making repayments and deposits without immediately seeing their dream home materialise.

Welcome to episode 54 of The Enthusiast Lab!

In today’s episode, we dive into the world of builder brokers—what they are, how they work, and why you might want to consider using one for your next home build.

We discuss:
•What is a Builder Broker? We explain how builder brokers partner with multiple builders to offer you a range of options, much like how a buyer’s advocate works in real estate.
•The Process of Finding a Builder: You can go directly to a builder or use a broker to compare prices, plans, and specs from a panel of 2-15 builders, helping you find the best fit.
•How a Builder Broker Advocates for You: They guide you through the entire process, from choosing a builder to securing financing, and even handling negotiations.
•Navigating Good and Bad Builder Brokers: Tips for finding the right broker based on experience, reviews, and social media presence.
