I'm unpacking the 'freeze frame moment' every entrepreneur encounters. It's a critical juncture where vision clashes with financial reality, something I've faced repeatedly throughout my entrepreneurial journey.
In this episode, I delve into my personal story, moving from a conventional approach to entrepreneurship to a less traveled, more introspective path. This shift, born out of a crisis, led to what I call 'quantum leap moments.' You'll hear how the pandemic marked a significant inflection point, transforming my approach from chasing forced results to embracing a life of thriving, where opportunities are deeply personal and internally driven.
I'll discuss the importance of trusting your inner experience over external noise, focusing on the intersection of inner development and entrepreneurship. This journey is about transitioning from a phase of 'winning' to a phase of 'thriving,' where the true measure of success is internal satisfaction, not just external achievements.
This episode is for every entrepreneur at any stage, offering insights into redefining success and navigating the complexities of business with personal growth. Join me to learn how to embrace your unique entrepreneurial path and discover the power of your inner vision.

I take you on a journey through my eye-opening experiences as an entrepreneur. I was astounded when I looked at my numbers from last year, realizing I had been out of touch with my own business's inner workings. It was a wake-up call that came unexpectedly during a routine call, where the profit and loss statement, which I hadn't reviewed in months, was discussed by chance.
In this episode, I shared insights from running not just any business, but a sales outsourcing company I started years ago with a simple goal: to make it successful enough to do whatever I wanted. It's a story of not just achieving financial success but also finding personal satisfaction and joy in the work I do.
You'll hear about the nuances of business management, the importance of regularly reviewing your financials like the top line, gross margin, SG&A expenses, operating expenses, and net margin, and understanding your balance sheet and debt loads. These aspects are crucial, yet often overlooked in the day-to-day hustle of entrepreneurship.
I'll also delved into the journey of mastering entrepreneurship, a path that took me decades, not just years. It's a tale of building a business from scratch, seeking happiness and work-life balance, and confronting the reality that these pillars aren't always as stable as we hope. Market conditions shift, and life throws curveballs, affecting the very foundations of our business and personal satisfaction.
But there's more to it. I discussed the challenges of this instability and how I navigated them, emphasizing resilience, the willingness to continuously work on oneself and the business, and the relentless pursuit of solutions.
Listen as I reflected on being a conventional entrepreneur and the lessons learned from managing a successful business amidst life's unpredictable shifts. This episode from my Dec 15th Gurus and Sages Live is a deep dive into the real-world experiences of entrepreneurship and is essential listening for anyone on or aspiring to this challenging yet rewarding path.

You will feel discouraged.
Entrepreneurs struggle with big visions and the slow pace toward succeesful outcomes.
The issue is not lack of progress. It's missing the point of how life works.
We succeed when we do what feels right and experience what's necessary.
If you feel discouraged it's possible that you are pushing for success rather than doing what's necessary.
Doing what's necessary to succeed always feels good. It never feels bad. Being discouraged is getting trapped in an illusion that is wrong.
Pain is different. Painful feelings do not feel bad. It feels like something needs to be examined. You want to run from them and not embrace them. That does not lead to feeling discouraged. It leads to blocking your inevitable success.
Learn to discern the difference between negative emotions (feels bad) and pain (feeling experience) that leads to surrender and joy.
On the other side of pain is surrender into a new way of being in the world.
Feeling bad leads to more bad feelings when you keep thinking and acting as you are when discouraged.

Entrepreneurs want results quickly and do not enjoy constantly battling the same problems.
We prefer motion, action, and feedback. The idea of not having combined with bad feedback hurts.
Here's what's happening. It's a matter of perspective.
When we feel impatient the tension between not having and wanting overwhelms our experience.
How do we solve the problem?
Simply no longer trying to solve it gets us closer to a resolution.
As Zen Buddhist koans trick you into a state of awareness this exercise opens your mind to truth.
We hold on to the belief that a potential negative outcome stuck in mind prevents us from success.
Do the exercise. Don't think about it. There is no solution to discover. Release impatience instead.

Entrepreneurs struggle with overwhelm.
We feel pulled forward by our vision and pushed backward by our desire for results.
This conflict becomes chronic and leads to the feeling of "not getting" which feels like overwhelm.
For some it's an organizational or productivity problem. Others struggle with the inner state regardless of how efficient or effective they are.
One solution is to expose the truth to yourself. This module creates a conflict between what you desire most and what holds you back. For those who are honest with themselves the overwhelm resolves when you realize that you will not give up what you want for a temporary result.
Make sure not to think too hard. It's best to allow yourself to come to the conclusion without effort.
The best way to do this is to schedule the 15 minutes at a time where you can be alone and not rushed to expose your feelings to yourself fully.
