The Epic, Fantastical Journey of a Black Female Sci-fi Writer

I’ve got some updates this week, but I’d be lying if I said my energy WASN’T at an all-time low. Recent events in Charlottesville and with North Korea have got me fighting anxiety and situational depression like WOAH.

There may be some dark times ahead for our country, and I am trying to stay strong, focused, and inspired through my art. I hope you will too!

Questions You Need to Consider:

1. Why is the pain of Black America ALWAYS the grenade that some White liberals use to create controversy and make money, while NOT making change?

2. Will the institution of Whiteness ever stop using Black folks and slave narratives to “stir the pot” for their own gain and notoriety?

3. If not, where does the buck stop with us, Black fam? Can we take back our narrative power, PLEASE, and STOP the damn tap dancing?

4. If we [Black people] made our own shit, WOULD IT LOOK LIKE THIS? (Short answer: fuck no. We’d be writing some afro-futuristic, Black-empowerment shit where our power, potential, self-love, and FREEDOM has no bounds.)
