The Erratic Podcast

Our next installment is a truly brilliant episode by one of the rising, young stars from Buenos Aires, Argentina, JOAQUIN RUIZ. We are extremely elated to give him the stage to showcase his wicked skills powering through a beautiful and astounding techno session. Influenced by the sounds of classic Detroit and modern Berlin, his style is unique and takes the listener on a quintessential ride that combs and blends the very best in techno today. Joaquin has quite a stacked schedule of releases coming up, some of which involve Newrhythmic, Injected Poison, and Raw Raw Records to name a few --including remixes from the respective label owners. In this mix for us, he left nothing behind and poured heart and soul into the 60-minute journey that is equally mind-blowing as it is perfect. Utterly cerebral, fast-paced, and absolutely introspective: this is Joaquin Ruiz live in the mix exclusively for The Erratic Podcast. As always, sit back and enjoy this timeless ride!

Next up on the series we welcome aboard one heck of a techno laureate and resident DJ at Tresor, REKA. Originally from Madrid but based in Berlin for several years now, Rebeca has become a constant, active deejay and curator of the legendary institution. Her sound is unique, rich, and avant-garde; and it echoes remnants of projects past. In this fashion, the journey she delivered for us is powerful and immersive, navigating through sub-genress and captivating the audience with no mercy. For the next hour is Reka live in the mix. Oh boy... What an incredible show we have for you yet again! This time with none other than VSK. He's been garnishing much support and accolades over the last couple of years. His latest release, a whopping 6-tracker collab EP with Conrad Van Orton on Modularz, Quantum Entanglement, has received magnanimous praise since hitting the streets and his mix for us starts off with one of the tracks, Angular Momentum. True to his sound and style, the hour Francesco put together for us is raw, deep, and dark swerving through industrial techno and apocalyptic electronics. Folks, better buckle up for this one. This is VSK in the mix exclusively for The Erratic Podcast. Click play and Enjoy!

Very proud to welcome as our next guest one heck of an artist from our side of the pond, ALTSTADT ECHO. Hailing from Detroit, he's part of the new-wave techno artists to have made quite a splash onto the scene in the last few years. Thus far, he has been associated with Blank Code's LTD releases, which lean towards the avant-garde and experimental textures of techno, as well his own imprint, Modern Cathedrals – marking this Fall its 4th vinyl release by the man himself.

Shortly, the label will be revealing its Fall schedule of events slated to take place across new venues throughout the Motor City and will be featuring both techno legends as well as newer, younger artists exploring the depths of noise and sound as they relate to the subtleties of the genre. As you will be able to listen in the next hour, Altstadt's sound is layered and complex, and the cohesiveness and harmonies of the sound arrangements are top in class. Tune in and enjoy, folks! :)

Next up on The Erratic Podcast we are very excited to welcome aboard another extremely talented, young artist, this time coming straight from France, HYDRANGEA. She specializes on the deeper, more emotive side of techno and with every one of her works she delivers truly stunning pieces of electronic music. Much like the name describes itself, Hydrangea's sound is based on nature and the organic emotions it inspires on her – hiding at the core doses of both enchanting and intoxicating sonics.

Thus far in her tenure as an artist, she's managed to release among the best labels catering to this unique and enthralling sound: Silent Season, Annulled, Natch, and Dust Recordings all of which have received outstanding reception and feedback. In 2015, her debut LP "Dawn Lights" came to fruition, followed a few months later by her self-released LP "Escape From Reality" – an extremely personal and heartfelt tribute to the passing of her sister – via her own Bandcamp page.

As you will soon hear throughout the next 50 minutes of utterly captivating soundscapes, Hydrangea has a bright future ahead (including several projects to see the light of day shortly), and she feels right at home when expounding her complex palette of ethereal emotions. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Hydrangea in the mix. Enjoy!

What a wicked show we have for you folks! Our next guest, hailing from Copenhagen via Moscow, is a young artist who has been making quite a name for herself over the past couple of years, ANASTASIA KRISTENSEN. Having released on Monasterio's debut release from Moscow and now co-running Count 0 alongside Ctrls and Funeral Future out of Copenhagen, Anastasia is definitely a tour de force that's only getting started.

Her eclecticism in musical taste is wide-reaching and encompassing, and is always elegantly manifested in all of her techno journeys, be it inside the club playing live feeding off the energy from the crowd or in the studio mixing, producing borrowing from her knowledge on electronic music amassed during her teenage years. For us, she put together a smashing hour of top-notch techno, full of superb and unreleased cuts that will surely keep your heart-rate in check.

Coming up for Anastasia on the production front, is a remix on BLD Tape due next month and an original work for the Black V/A series on Nous Disques due in October. And that same month you can catch this fine laureate in action, where she's been billed to wreak havoc at the Culture Box in the Danish capital for the Perc Trax showcase. Without further adieu, here's Anastasia live in the mix. Enjoy!

Our next guest is no doubt the epitome of artistic independence and self-expression. Ladies and gentlemen please welcome YUKA. She has released her exquisite sounds mostly via her own Bandcamp page as well as her other home, Fullpanda. Her works are rare and few apart, yet what draws the listener to her art is Yuka's innate ability to convey unique and penetrating feelings, regardless of tempo and convention, leaving the audience needing more.

Yuka has been on our wishlist for a while so we are very excited to finally be able to feature her amazing talent on our series. The next 60 minutes are both equally as absorbing as ejecting, pulling the listener inwards and outwards, unveiling all of Yuka's bold and superlative artistry. This is one of her most cerebral and introspective journeys yet – YUKA in the mix exclusively for The Erratic Podcast. Enjoy!
