January’s chill means we’re cozying up to Syrah, a grape local winemaker Gretchen Voelcker knows well from her Luna Hart project as well as Piazza Family Wines in Ballard Canyon. There’s probably no one better to inaugurate this podcast than Gretchen – her Luna Hart bottlings have graced our wine shop’s shelves and by-the-glass list since liftoff in 2017. Within a few short years, though, Gretchen has further honed her drive to make wines of place and the skills and moxie to execute them.
