In our final episode we talk to Terrence Higgins Trust UK’s biggest and leading sexual health charity. We speak about their recent campaign ‘Can't Pass it On’, detailing how effective preventative HIV treatment means that even if you are sexually active you cannot pass on the virus. Ian Green CEO and Sue Mason who is living with HIV  oversees the Positive Forces Project who discusses the incredibly impactful moment when she told her teenage daughter about her status whose response was “ You are going to die now Mummy, you are going to leave me”. 

This episode was dedicated to London based charity Positive East. We speak to  peer support worker Phil who also happened to be Mr Gay England, Phil talked passionately about having a healthy and long life whilst living with HIV. Positive East has been at the forefront of HIV service and care for over 26 years. 

 

This episode we speak to Enla Fees– Corporate Partnerships Manager who works for Mothers 2 Mothers whose goal it is to end paediatric aids in sub-saharan Africa. We also hear from Phumeza who is a facility mentor mother based in Cape Town .South Africa, she talks about her own personal experience of living with HIV and how she has turned her life around whilst helping her community. This story is the embodiment of empowerment through adversity. 

 This episode we welcome National Aids Trust – Director of Policy – Kat Smithson and Shamal who is a British, gay, muslim advocate who was diagnosed 5 years ago with HIV. Shamal talks about feeling a sense of isolation and concern with news of his diagnosis of HIV especially amongst his community and dealing with the reaction. 

 

This episode is dedicated to George House Trust, who are based in Manchester. Joshua joins us who is Project – Co-ordinator from Better Together and trains up other people who live with HIV to be peer mentors and provide support for others living with it. This happens at GHT and in the community alongside the sexual health clinics; we are also joined James who uses their services and is living with HIV and was intentionally infected by a sexual partner who unwittingly removed the condom during sex. 

The first episode is from Body & Soul based in Clerkenwell. Holly who works at Body and Soul and Humphrey a service user – who had a brother who sadly died from HIV.  The charity go about helping people understand complex adversities in childhood and recognizing how this impacts life expectancy. Holly discusses the key messaging from the charity that what happens in someone’s past doesn’t define them. 

This weeks The Everything Project is called 'Living with Cancer' episode. We are joined by super-human powerhouses @gammy_tit @curryandcancer who opened up about their personal Cancer journies, diagnoses and how life and treatment continues from that point forward. Saima and Vicky both run their own businesses amongst all that they have been thrown. The show was a perfect melange of education and complete inspiration. 1 in 2 people are affected by Cancer so this was a very important episode to create and broadcast.
