    I share my feelings from coming off of the Milwaukee Podcast Festival this past weekend and how awesome of an experience it was to be apart of something so ground breaking for Milwaukee!! I chat with Marrika Rodgers, LPC-IT (Licensed Professional Counselor in Training)whose a native of Milwaukee, WI and loves all things mental health. She is a clinician in the field working with the homeless population currently through Impact. She is the Founder and Visionary of Envisioning the Future, INC which is a hub of resources to help evolve men, women and youth into their best self individually and collectively towards a brighter future. Marrika also shares her passion for the youth and young adults in the community. She sheds light on if she was able to change things within the community to better serve the youth.     In this session I'm solo and I'm sharing all things dealing with racism with Colin Kaepernik, police brutality, black and brown people being treated unequal in a lot of areas of their life. One thing we may miss about talking about when we bring up the social and racial inequalities is the affects it has on our mental health. I share a few tips that can help keep you centered during the face of adversity.     This session I chat with friend to the show, Markias Littlejohn, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)of Kairos Therapeutic Alliance and on Session 11. We chat about a lot of the issues that affect black males with feeling comfortable about sharing their emotions, being open, mental wellness and therapy.     In this session, I was able to chat with Pastor Cornelius Lindsey of The Gathering Oasis Church in Atlanta, GA whose also an author, speaker and founder of The Man Cave. Pastor Cornelius has written several great books and the one that he will be sharing on is his latest book, "When God's Hand Is On You". This book dives into thoughts and questions like, when you are called to your purpose how might you prepare and train, whose depending on you for you to walk into your purpose, preparing for your calling within ministry and more! Let me tell y'all this session blessed my soul, I truly left the chair better than I came!!! P.C. P.C. dropped gems on passion and purpose, an understanding of when you are walking in it and being led by God, the G.A.P. within the church with mental health and therapy and acknowledging how therapy isn't bad and more!
