Having to create and adapt your work skills based on your partner's career, isn't easy to do. Cerise knew this first hand. 

Going from commuting all sorts of distances to keep her job, to being transferred to Kenya, her country of origin and still not being able to work, Cerise started to notice a pattern- finding a job as a military spouse was NOT easy. 

Employers didn't want to take the risk and were afraid they couldn't invest in her, even when she was overqualified for the role. Eventually, despite a brilliant education and thriving career in the finance world, she was forced to pivot her profession to follow her military husband.

After facing many challenges, she found her passion and purpose in a non-profit organisation called Recruit for Spouses, which specialises in getting military spouses work.

Luke’s career as a Royal Engineer was pretty normal until he started planning his exit strategy from the military - 3 years before it even happened. And not because he necessarily wanted to leave at that moment, but simply because he found himself procrastinating and questioning what was next.

But the wait proved the best decision he could make!

Growing up with a military family, Ben Read had guidance throughout his leave process, but not much of a plan. 

But after gaining a lot of sales experience selling photocopiers in London, he found his footing in tech sales. 

He quickly learned that there was more to sales than "just earning good money". He also understood that as a veteran he had a lot to offer to the sales industry - and that's what we're discussing in today's episode!
