Good morning listeners! Coach Kate here with some morning motivation this wonderful Monday to help get your week started! I host this space typically weekday mornings to help give my listeners a boost, a different perspective, or even some deep thoughts to carry with them through the day. Some days, like today, I open it it up for larger thoughts, ideas, and questions and bring listeners in, and other days I do a quick motivation minute just to get the day started. If you'd like to jump into any of my old talks, you can do so on the talk tab on my profile on NoomVibe.
Now today is a special day for may people in the world, as many people will be experiencing a celestial event known as a solar eclipse. A few years ago I got to experience a total solar eclipse, and I was left absolutely in awe, so much so, that my blabbering on about it got me my pilot callsign of Eclipse. if you have a chance today to see it, or be in the pathway of totality, I encourage you to take the experience all in, and enjoy every moment. wear those eclipse glasses too. With that said, today's solar events led to me to remember the wonderful Persian poet Hafiz, and his beautiful short poem about unconditional love, titled:
The Sun Never Says:
“EvenAfterAll this timeThe Sun never says to the Earth,"You owe me."LookWhat happensWith a love like that,It lights the whole sky.”
― Hafiz
What Hafiz is sharing here is the beautiful brilliance of unconditional love. And today, I thought we could dive into what unconditional love can mean when we give it back to ourselves. When we learn to love ourselves, we step out of the way of our inner light, and we let our souls shine outwards too. We so often think of unconditional love, or love in general, needing to come from outside sources or people, but it needs to start with ourselves. So how can you learn to love you, unconditionally? So today, I was going to go over some tips and ideas on cultivating that self-love through self talk, so let's dive in.
So self love can typically can start with our self talk-- you see the voice we hear most in our lives, is our own, and we can benefit greatly from telling ourselves wonderful things about us. This can manifest in many ways, and many people benefit from mirror talk or affirmations, these can look like just standing in the mirror and telling ourselves affirmations:
I am brave.
I am strong.
I can do anything.
I am beautiful.
I am brilliant.
I am complete.
I am loved.
I am a good friend.
I am capable.
I am rich.
I am happy…
You might be sitting there, listening, thinking, how can you say those things, if you don't believe them? Well, the truth is, words are powerful, right? And we will believe the things we tell ourselves, even if its bad, but thankfully, we will also believe the things we tell ourselves, even if its good too. So if you're scared to start, that's okay. Start small. Start brave. Start scared. Just start. When you learn to love yourself, unconditionally, you also learn to light up the whole sky of your life-- and you deserve a love like that.
Thank you all for tuning in today, for being brave, for being brilliant, for being capable, for being great listeners, great contributors, and great friends to share this space with. If you found this talk valuable, helpful, or introspective, feel free to follow me. Tomorrow I'll be back with the shorter motivation minute throughout the week. If you have ideas on talks, or want me to talk about something in the future in particular, send me a message.
Lastly, if you are in the path of the eclipse today-- enjoy the experience, and I hope you see what it means to have a love that lights up the whole sky-- and I hope you realize that love first starts with you.
