Men lead the human race, whether or not the world acknowledges it; they always have, and they always will. Men like to boast of power, but such boasting is worse than worthless when the manner of exercising that power causes suffering rather than producing life. Miriam Ibraheem is one of the most courageous, strong people you will ever meet. Born as an Ethiopian refugee in Sudan, Miriam has known suffering all of her life. Miriam's suffering came from men who don't know how to be men. Her story illustrates the vital need for the Gospel in the hearts of men everywhere. But her story also demonstrates courage that will put most men to shame. In listening to her story today, I hope that you will better appreciate the vital protective and serving role that God has called men to play. I pray that Miriam's courage will inspire you to be as brave as she is. She inspires me.

Cycles of family brokenness mixed with a highly sexualized culture and invasive technology have colluded to create one of the most pornographically addicted generations in human history. I may be getting into some strange things. I have always identified with the label "Charismatic Christian," but more precisely a "closet Charismatic."  I have also realized that I am and want to be an intellectual at heart. I want to be considered a "reasonable Charismatic." Can these two worlds exist together? I believe that they can, and they do, just like heaven and earth exist in the same space simultaneously. Nevertheless, our inherited, Post-Enlightenment worldview may be pre-disposed to view as crazy the spiritual warfare I am learning to practice. The truth is stranger than fiction, but it also sets us free. I think I have to retire my "reasonable" label. Let me tell you why in today's podcast.

Jesus told us to "store up treasure in heaven," but what is the point? Are we supposed to want "pearly mansions" in heaven? What use is a crown that we are supposed to throw at Jesus' feet? How can we convince our children that storing up treasure in heaven isn't a scam?

Communion, The Lord's Supper, The Eucharist, or Mass, depending on what you call it, is a strange practice. This meal never meant much to me until I could begin to wrap my mind around it. The way I saw this practice observed and taught in traditional churches didn't satisfy me. But on Good Friday, it is appropriate to explore this meal that the Church has always valued and which Jesus commanded us to observe "in remembrance" of Him. I have finally discovered meaning in the meal Jesus gave us.

One accusation that strikes fear into the heart of Western Christians everywhere is the charge: "not Biblical!" But what does it mean to be "Biblical?" There are lots of earnest, Bible-believing Christians who have very different understandings of what the Bible teaches. Which one of these interpretations is "Biblical"?
