- Did Jesus Understand The Gospel? (Luke 21, the destruction of Jerusalem, and the Gospel)
Send us Fan Mail
When you read the Gospels, especially passages that have to do with coming judgments, do you ever wonder why Jesus doesn't say the things that most evangelicals have been taught to say? In Luke 21, Jesus talks about a coming judgment and yet He never asks anyone if they knew where they would go when they died, nor did He teach about the depravity of man or justification by faith. Did Jesus know what the Gospel is? Well, of course He did. But do we know what Jesus thought the Gospel was? That is the question we are tackling in today's podcast along with other related issues we are confronted with when practicing evangelism. To learn more about today's topic, check out this week's blog post:https://www.karlgessler.com/single-post/2019/01/04/Did-Jesus-Understand-the-GospelKelsey's Full Story:https://soundcloud.com/karlgessler/you-must-be-born-againShow Your Love! ...59 min - This Is How You Share The Gospel (Luke 21, 70 AD, and Evangelism W/ Teresa McMillan)

If we want to share the Gospel, we need to know what it is. Isn't the Gospel found in the Gospels, as in, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? Those guys wrote a lot! What part of the Gospel do we share with someone when we just have 5 minutes in a coffee shop? What if we don't know what to say? Can we share the Gospel without having all the answers? Karl Gessler is joined in the studio this week by his brother, Joseph, to wrestle with some of these questions. Also, on this week's podcast, meet a woman who has shared the Gospel in 49 different nations and counting!Learn More about the WORLD RACEhttps://www.worldrace.org/Contact:https://www.karlgessler.com/contactShow Your Love! And what does the Santa Clause of reality, myth, and legend have to offer us today? ...37 min - The Angels We've Ignored On High (Luke 1, Christmas, and Visions of Angels with John Immel)
Send us Fan Mail
In Luke's Gospel, angels play an essential role in the opening birth narratives, and this brings up some provocative notions for us in the West. To better understand the Christmas narrative in Luke's gospel, we are asking questions like: Did Zachariah believe in angels before he saw one? What it matter to you if he had? Many people in our Western world deny the existence of angels and demons and anything non-material. Can we believe in these sensational stories? How does Luke expect us to receive these stories? Was this type of "supernatural" story unique in Luke's day? And how did this, seemingly, unusual event change Zachariah in Luke's gospel? And finally, does this story still have the power to change us today?Check out our special Christmas Vlog here:https://youtu.be/imf9zPsvricShow Your Love! ...55 min - "Signs of the End" (Brackin Kirkland's Testimony)
Send us Fan Mail
Did Jesus preach that the world will end? That is what many people will assume when they read Luke 21. But when Jesus talks about "the signs of the end", is He talking about the end of the world, or the end of something else? This week, Brackin Kirkland from Sounds Like Reign, joins Karl in the studio to share his testimony and to be a conversation partner with Karl as they discuss Luke 21 and Jesus' precise meaning concerning "the end". It may not be what you think!

...46 min - Does Your Body Matter? (Questions about Resurrection and Life on Earth)
Send us Fan Mail
Does your body or the earth matter to God, or are we trying to live in a de-railed story? That is what we are asking about this week's podcast. Why? Because the Sadducees challenged Jesus on His belief in the coming resurrection of the dead. Resurrection is not the same thing as "going to heaven," as many Western Christians assume. Jesus' answer has a tremendous impact on the way you approach the life you are living right now. And in the second half of the podcast, Joseph Smith, the director of Teen Challenge Alabama, joins us to share his testimony of deliverance from pain pill addiction through Jesus!

Send us Fan Mail
Harvard graduate, John Immel, joins Karl Gessler in the studio to talk about some of the challenges of reading the book of Genesis. Are Genesis and science at odds with one another? Was the world created in a literal seven days? Can someone have genuine Christian faith without being a seven-day creationist? Why was this book written in the first place?

About The Faith of the Father(s) w/ Karl Gessler
From the publisher's feed
The Faith of the Father (s) is a podcast devoted to proclaiming and demonstrating the reality of Jesus Christ—risen from the dead and actively at work today, healing the sick and casting out…
demons just as He did in the Scriptures.
Rooted in the careful study of the Bible and the witness of the Church throughout history, this podcast seeks to learn from the faith of the fathers—from the earliest believers to faithful witnesses in the present day. We hold that the ministry of Jesus did not end in the Gospels, but continues through men and women indwelt by the Holy Spirit and obedient to His voice.
Hosted by Karl Gessler, The Faith of the Fathers features candid conversations with those who have walked out of deep trauma, abuse, and bondage and have found real healing in Jesus. It also includes interviews with believers who have witnessed and participated in profound works of God—miracles of healing, deliverance, salvation, and even the raising of the dead—through courageous and faithful obedience to Christ.
At its core, this podcast affirms a simple conviction: God intends to govern the world through human beings filled with His Spirit, living in truth, authority, and love. By returning to Scripture and the lived faith of the Church, The Faith of the Fathers invites listeners to know Jesus not as a distant figure of the past, but as the living Lord who continues His work today.
