Instead of organizing our clutter, we talk about removing it—clearing space for God’s new work in a new season.

We walk through the difference between obvious sin and subtle weights that still slow us down, drawing on Hebrews 12:1 to name what hinders our race. From there, we lay out four honest categories that shape the weeks ahead: unhealthy inputs we consume, unhelpful habits that drain focus, ungodly emotions we’ve stored rather than surrendered, and false narratives that distort how we see God, ourselves, and others. Each theme begins with Scripture, moves to simple questions—what, why, how—and ends with small steps of obedience that make room for renewal.

This is devotion-driven discipleship in everyday language: seek God personally, speak about him intentionally, and lead those entrusted to you without handing them a to-do list. You’ll hear a gentle, clear invitation: when the Spirit puts a finger on what needs to go, “trash it,” and let Him transform what remains.

One question keeps cutting through the noise for us: what do you want the most? Not the answer you know you’re supposed to give, but the one your life proves through what you cling to, defend, and keep making room for. If you’ve felt spiritually distracted, emotionally full, or like you can’t quite experience God’s presence the way you want, this conversation brings it back to something deeper than behavior. It brings it back to desire.

In this final episode of the "TRASH IT!" conversation collection, we talk about how “holy housekeeping” is more than cleaning up habits. It’s spiritual decluttering for the heart: noticing what we take in, what we repeat, what we carry, and the narratives we keep believing. We reflect on Philippians 3:7-8, where Paul calls everything else garbage compared to knowing Christ, and we explore why this isn’t about forced sacrifice or earning approval. It’s about making space to see God clearly so everything else can find its proper place or be released.

We also lean on Psalm 27:4 and the idea of a "one thing" life. Choosing Jesus as our central desire doesn’t make everything easier, but it makes everything clearer, because we stop crowding our vision with what we have to justify, compromise for, or keep pulling back out of the trash. We close with the reminder that Seek Him leads to Speak Him, creating room not only for God, but for the people He’s entrusted to us.

Have you ever felt the pull to grow closer to God, yet found yourself distracted, rushed, or unsure where to begin? We start with a scene most of us recognize: the music is great, the rhythm is steady, but nobody moves until one person finally steps into the beat. That small act changes the whole room, and it’s a picture of how spiritual momentum often begins in real life. 

I’m Tosha Williams, and I’m sharing a simple framework that has shaped how I walk with God and how I disciple the people He’s placed in my everyday life. The rhythm is listen, linger, lead. We listen for God’s voice as we draw near through Scripture and prayer. We linger in His presence long enough for Him to form us, not just inspire us. Then we lead by letting what He’s doing in us flow outward in conversations, relationships, parenting, mentoring, and ordinary moments where faith becomes visible. That’s devotion-driven discipleship, the move from Seek Him to Speak Him. 

Psalm 73:28 anchors it all: “It is good to be near God… I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge… I will tell of all your deeds.” We connect each phrase to a practical next step, and we name the tension many Christians feel: we try harder, get tired, and wonder what’s missing. What if the issue isn’t effort, but rhythm? If you’re hungry for deeper Christian living that’s doable in everyday life, this is your starting point.
