Scripture says the angels long to look into what God is doing through His gift of Jesus and salvation (1 Peter 1:8-12). More than just sing and rejoice that first Christmas, throughout the ages, they have curiously stooped down to watch and see, deeply desiring to understand God's gospel plan. If they are so mesmerized by His gift, the question is:  are we?

In this podcast episode, Tosha Williams talks about the third truth in the Family Disciple Me "The Gospel Gift" Advent series  - - - "God's Gift to Us is Our Savior Jesus Christ." The accompanying discipleship conversation can help you talk with those entrusted to you about God's extraordinary gift. This Christmas, amidst all the celebration, memory making and fun, be encouraged to have meaningful conversations with your family about the most mesmerizing Christmas gift of all.

As we plan our Christmas presents, we enjoy giving as much as we can to those we love. However, we all know our budgets are limited. And,, what's more, some gifts are entirely impossible to give - and salvation is this kind of gift. This week in our Advent series, we are talking about the 2nd truth in "The Gospel Gift" series - "God Has the Power to Give Us the Gift We Need."

Zechariah's words in Luke 1:68-69A encourage us, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us...” In Scripture, a horn is a symbol of power. So, as you do your Christmas shopping, be reminded of God's limitless power to bless and help us - especially with the gifts we cannot give ourselves. Talk to your family about this during Advent and the Christmas season. This is the reason we celebrate Christmas!

Ready for some good news? The Gospel IS the Good News - - - and it's the great news of Christmas! We need a gift we cannot give ourselves, and God saw our need and helped us.

This Advent season, Family Disciple Me presents a four-part discipleship series called "The Gospel Gift." Based on four quotes from the Christmas story in Luke, this series highlights four truths about the Gospel. These can help you and those entrusted to you better understand and highlight the Good News of the Gospel!!!

Our first conversation is "Truth #1 - We Need a Gift We Cannot Give Ourselves." Mary said that God "looked on the humble estate of his servant…He who is mighty has done great things for me” (Luke 1:48-49).  The great thing He has done is plan for the gift of our salvation. Talk about this with those entrusted to you this week!!!

This first "Gospel Gift" conversation is followed by three more, available at familydiscipleme.org

This may be a tough year, but God's Word says, "Give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). This attitude is one thing that should set believers apart from the world is our attitudes in the midst of hard times.

Perhaps nowhere is this more exemplified than in "Foxe's Book of Martyrs" published in the 1500s. This book contains story after story of generations of believers who endured suffering, persecution and even death with attitudes of joy, trust, hope, and - yes! - even thanksgiving. Their testimonies can give us a much needed gut check. (More info about John Foxe's noteworthy writings is available here.)

It's been a tough year - but it's November and time for some Thanksgiving!

God's Word says, "Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago." (Isaiah 25:1)

Although 2020 has been a long, hard year, Tosha Williams invites and challenges families to begin to focus on thanksgiving as we head toward Thanksgiving.

We’re in an election season but we’re also in November - the month of praise and thanksgiving. How do we navigate the unknowns and the concerns of one while being faithful to the other? In this podcast, Tosha Williams highlights Psalm 33, a psalm that speaks to countries, leaders and unsettling times. It makes clear that, even in the midst of national crisis and change, God wants His people to focus on Him with praise and hope.

As our nation’s future hangs in the balance, we can go crazy with speculation and fear - or we can re-center our thoughts on the Lord. This week is a call for believers to focus on God and His Word just as the psalmists did in their tumultuous times.

This podcast episode goes along with the discipleship conversation "Election 2020: A Call to Praise and Hope."

Our inner algorithms of choosing God and choosing His ways result in a godly life that is so visibly “good” that even unbelievers around us may take notice. “Good lives” with “good deeds” are evidence that Jesus is working in us and through us for His glory.

This is exactly what Scripture tells us to do: “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” (1 Peter 2:12 NIV)

In this podcast, Tosha Williams shares about her online conversation with a man who, initially, came out swinging at her "Algorithms with an Amen" article which appeared on christianpost.com The ensuing conversation thread went from angst to the heart of his story. It was, for Tosha, the perfect example of living out 1 Peter 2:12.

Sometimes we are tempted to think the little things in our lives aren’t a big deal - like whether we cheat, eat tons of candy or celebrate Halloween. However, the truth is, Scripture teaches that in everything the details of our lives matter to the Lord!

This podcast episode springs from 1 Corinthians 10:31 - "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” It coordinates with the discipleship conversation "Glorifying God In Everything."  Whatever your family does for Halloween, use this opportunity to talk to your kids about why you do what you do as a family. This discipleship conversation can help you begin the discussion!

This introductory podcast accompanies the intro FDM conversation, which is designed to help you understand how the FDM discipleship resources work. In this podcast, FDM founder Tosha Williams shares how discipleship intimidated her - until she learned the WHY and HOW of Deuteronomy 6:5-7 which says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

This podcast dives into that passage - then invites listeners to dive into the FDM intro conversation: "Discipling the Next Generation: An Intro Conversation about the WHY and HOW." The format of this conversation resource is an example of how every FDM discipleship conversation is formatted, designed to give individuals and families a conversation starting point in their own discipleship journeys.
