The Fandom-Based Life Podcast

We are (sort of) back! Sarah finally made it to London to  visit Allison - and for the first time ever, they are podcasting from THE SAME ROOM!

Hear them discuss all the Fandom-Based Tourism they managed to pack into one week, what they got up to the last time they were together, the common tropes of BADFIC, and, as a special bonus (?) enjoy a dramatic reading of their very own Benedict Cumberbatch Fanfic!

A very special Christmas update from Fandom-Based Life

After a bit of a break, we're back with the shiniest fandom of all - Browncoats! These fans of Joss Whedon's short lived but much beloved series Firefly mean business. Even now, 15 years after the show aired, these fans are still as passionate as ever.

It's time to dive into the podcast that started our podcast-based life! Murderinos are fans of the My Favorite Murder true crime podcast with Georgia Hardstark and Karen Kilgariff, and they're an incredible bunch! Listen in as Allison and Sarah discuss what birthed their love of true crime, and how a comedy murder podcast has inspired such a supportive and strong community.

We're back with more Sherlockian fun! In the second part of our exploration, we discuss how the stars and creators of BBC's Sherlock feel about the fandom, and hear from some Sherlockians about how the consulting detective has impacted their lives.

The game is on! In part 1 of our exploration of the Sherlock Fandom we discuss the history of the world's first fandom, the various film and television homages to this classic character, and Allison bestows some dramatic Sherlock fan fiction readings upon Sarah.

In Part 2 of their journey into the Supernatural, Sarah and Allison take a heartwarming look at the #SPNfamily and the impact this show has had on both the fans and it's stars.

There was so much to cover with Supernatural, we had to split it into two episodes! This week Allison introduces us to the long running series and it's characters, while Sarah talks about the Fandom's favourite ships and gives us a taste of some SPN fan fiction!

It's Fandom-Based Friday! In this episode Sarah and Allison dissect Fanspeak, discuss their ultimate OTP's, and learn that the only thing missing from their Fandom-Based Lives may be Edward Cullen pillows...
