Born in Israel on a small kibbutz, Haya Goderez was an adult educator during her mandatory military service then got her undergrad degree at Ben Gurion University and an MA in Psychology at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where she met her future husband who was visiting from the United States.
She moved to New York City with and received an, MSW from Hunter College. She began her intensive study of nutrition when one of her four children was born with serious problems. Haya and her husband Bruce Goderez work as a team to provide what is called Functional Medicine, an approach that uses medical testing to identify nutritional, hormonal and other imbalances that are the underlying cause of various medical and psychiatric issues that more typically would be treated with drugs.
Haya practiced Buddhism, following Chogiam Trungpa Rimpoche, and completed a seminary program and many retreats. The core teaching and her primary model of working with people is based in A Course In Miracles, as taught by Ken Wapnic.
She has studied healing methods with many different teachers for over ten years, including Reiki, Metrix Energetix and other lesser known paths. The richness of these "lesser known" healing methods makes her work very effective and her level of understanding is profound.
